so far what I have is that they’re both a gym leader (they go by ludlow) and a scientist (they go by nilas)... and somehow manage to keep both jobs separated! their full name is nilas ludlow (obviously) because i kinda like how it sounds (nilas means ‘victory of the people’ and yet they’re very like... secretive and ‘introverted’ and ludlow just kinda sounds like ‘lie low’ to me yet they’re really over the top and dramatic.) I haven’t drawn them as the scientist but it’s very.. how you would imagine, though they do have primarily red hair in a ponytail with a streak of grey down the center (it kind of reverses?)

i don’t exactly have a region in my mind where i’d put them, but i like the conflict of red and silver in their outfits, so i’m probably gonna plonk them in team magma just so i can use the excuse of red and stuff.. i like to imagine that they came from unova to hoenn to like, check things out (they’re really interested in heatran, obviously, but got confused or whatever. i think you can find heatran in oras though)

i also don’t have a reason that i wanted them to have a coverup for both being a scientist / gym leader other than the fact that i have a really dramatic ‘reveal’ that if i could animate, i would... i was inspired by those cool transition cosplay outfits that people do for like, princesses and stuff, but instead of a dress it’s them dramatically undoing their ponytail and throwing off their lab coat.. i know like logically it wouldn’t make any sense to somehow create a transition outfit from cliche scientist wear to like.. motocross fashion or whatever you’d call it, but this is the pokemon universe, so i can do whatever i want really

i’m not entirely sure what their gym challenge would be, but i like to imagine it’s broadcasted on tv screens and you have to like, race them while battling (sort of how you fight in swh on top of motorcycles and stuff)
