BIG BIG rainbows on "Sparkle motion" WLED driver board 🌈💡

and are testing it with various LED grids. First, we tried out a 16x16 NeoPixel grid that runs on 5V. Since that worked well, we're now onto a much bigger 60 x 60 grid - that's 3,600 LEDs! These are some NeoPixel pebble
We have all sorts of LED strips for a wide range of needs. Chonky strips? We got those! Strips with alligator clips 
netting samples we're also testing at the same time; each one has 20 x 60 pixels and uses 12V power, so it's a good test of the DC pass-through for higher voltages. Since WLED has a limit of 2000 pixels per output, this demo uses the three output ports that are then 'merged' together in memory to make a single large grid. We have more to test soon: the onboard IR receiver, USB PD, I2S microphone, extra I/O pins, and I2C, so watch for those videos as they come together. Coming soon -

"Blinks and Blares" (眨眼和刺耳声)
Shel Silverstein led one of the most interesting lives that has been lived in the last century. A college dropout, artist, and writer, one might have expected to find him waiting tables or washing toilets. Instead, he was a soldier, a cartoonist and columnist for playboy, and a playwright before becoming a beloved children’s book author. He didn’t get there using alliteration… but agreeably for almost anyone, he used it after. One poem in particular is the anthem of our age: Standing is Stupid. In this poem, he argues that physical activity is useless and that instead we should spend our time lying down (truly he was ahead of his time). After taking his advice, lying and thinking for what felt like a lifetime, the little mysteries have become elucidated: it’s all in the lights. Those bright lights, those flashing lights—those that make us turn our heads and hold position with mouths hanging open. They’re just…so Shanghai, and their movement almost makes me forget where we are.

Here is some art for all those around the world who are staying at home. We’re in this together. . . . This digital collage is made up of hundreds of our microscope images of a (dead) fly that was attached to a significant tree in the Amazon jungle in Brazil. The images were taken during our 2019 @labverde artist immersion in the Amazon. I think that @vicflock was actually right there when these images were taken! They were taken in the LabVERDE boat in the Cuieiras river system (Barreirinha, Rio Cuieiras, Central Amazonia, Brazil). . This image represents broken and disrupted nature. It’s printed in large format. Especially for the Moscow Graduation in Gorky Park, we built a large-scale art object - a five-meter(!) LED heart! To rekindle it, graduates had to hug tightly 😊
