I’m typing on a computer in the living room I grew up in

I’m not sure where he is

All I know is that I’m stuck where I’ve always been

Nothing to show for those 13 years of school

And I’m not sure how it happened

Because I’m pretty sure we got along as kids

But I look at his picture with anger now

Because he’s got his flowers

And I have my life barely in my grip

Does he ever feel inadequate?

Who makes him feel sick like he makes me?

Who makes him feel worthless?

Who doesn’t even know he exists but actively destroys him just by the mention of their name?

What irrelevant, arrogant idiot sits at the back of his head as the standard of success that measures his failure?

Does he ever feel stupid?

Does he ever feel confused?

Does he ever wish he could change every single detail about his life?

And if I confronted him would he admit to it?

No.

That’s not how this ends.

I’ll never ask him.

It’s not that important.
