I work on the 56th floor of what is an architectural icon in Midtown, and during our first fire drill this year, our drill master made the suggestion to have a pair of comfy flats within reach in case we need to walk down the building in case of an emergency. He warned that walking in heels (my daily footwear at work) would not cut it and we would end up like those who walked out of the buildings downtown barefoot. So I waited for a sale and grabbed this pair which have been unworn until last week.
