#leather burning

An experiment with a soldering iron on a leather baseball! I learned that either leather smells strongly when you burn it or maybe baseballs are really smelly. Almost everything is from the iron, except for some white paint added on the eye and teeth.

A leather book cover I made for a Mythical Journeys Larp prop!  This is the cover of the Book of Shamanism - a many year endeavor that (most) many player characters recall with [redacted] memories, but I wanted to make sure that all of our hard work was bound in a cover that was worth it.  The Tree of Life in the center, it’s trunk making the spine of the book and all 4 seasons in it’s branches, with a copper gilded infinity knot motif along the edges and little windows into the difference aspects of (this larp’s) Shamanism: Celestial (star and moon), Dream, Flora, Fauna, the Unicorn that protects the Forest, the Muses, Ancestor shamanism, and a closeup of my favorite oval - Elemental shamanism.  Did I go blind doing the knot? yes. Did my character cry in game when all of our work on the book was finally over? Big Time. 

Please know that I am still open to doing leather burning work! It might just be a week or so until I can get to it, as haunt season is not yet over.
