I really like Esperanto as a principle, but I wish it was gender-neutral from the get-go. It's weird that hyper-genderized grammar made the cut.
It somehow kinda feels worse than French—having the radix be masculine instead of simply the default variation?
(in Esperanto, you switch the -o suffix to -ito to change to feminine, while French often changes the termination if not the whole word: 《 Institut[eur/rice] 》 and 《 monsieur / madame 》).

Learning Esperanto be like: Oh, “foko”? That means ‘focus’, right? englisch ‘focus’, in spanish there's ‘el foco’ and ‘el enfoque’ and in german there's ‘der Fokus’.
Wrong. „foko“ is a seal.
‘focus’ is “fokuso”, for some godforsaken reason.

Certe "vi" estas la plej uzata. Ĝi funkcias kaj kiel singulara kaj kiel plurala.
"Ci" ne estas la "normala" uzo, ni nomu, kaj verŝajne oni plej uzas ĝin poetike. Tamen nenio vere malhelpas vin uzi ĝin, se vi ŝatus.
