#415 #LearnANewWord Something we do during Toastmasters meetings is practice the word of the day. We have an assigned role called the Grammarian. (In other clubs, the person is called the Wordmaster.) This person finds a word that is not often used and introduces the word to the club at the beginning of the meeting. The toastmasters present at the meeting are encouraged to include the word whenever they speak. The Grammarian keeps track of members’ usage of the word and reports the usage near the close of the meeting. The purpose of this activity is to help members become aware of and use new vocabulary. It's good practice. Just like learning anything else that's new, you are exercising your mind and keeping it strong. Do it regularly and you will expand your vocabulary and strengthen your mind.
