Kay so I just wanted to go over these lines specifically

We try so much to talk to God without actually putting forth effort :( we'll say a prayer and go back to what we were doing before and not think of Him at all. I do it too, and it hits me like a truck when I realize I'm doing it, bc omg, look at everything He's done for us, and I can't even turn my mind to Him for a second.

One second can be worth years. And I think that's so special, because genuinely we're not asked much. The bulk of the commandments are just things that will keep us healthy. The rest are about loving. Is that not so important?? Self care and caring about other people? That's quite literally it

Second part of the silly lyric analysis- the MOST important part of repentance is to /never do it again/. The last step is to move on when redeeming yourself of a sin. "Promise him I mean it but I'm still the same"? DUUUUDEEE!!!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS. We do it so much. We make a mistake and go to sacrament and then the next day WE. DO. IT. AGAIN. It can be huge or small but jeez, we do that so much. I'm not saying it's everybody else- I do it too! I'm doing my best, true, but I am NEVER going to get through it if I don't lean on Him.

I can't cleanse myself of my own sins! Why would I try?? Why would I waste what Jesus paid for in the Garden of Gethsemane?? Like?? He bled from every. Pore. I'm in shock still! I've been learning about this since I was a kid! But like!! Oh my stars!!
