Taking breaks is also being productive
Studying constantly only leads to burnout. Go take a walk. Feed some ducks. Admire a pretty building. Try to cook something new.
You might feel guilty at first, but nothing in excess is ever good, not even studying.
Dont forget to live life
I have the next 2 weeks off and I have tons of studying to do. It's difficult to manage a full time job and studying together, so I have to make use of this vacation.
I will be starting with CPC and will try to post here everyday to keep a track and be accountable to myself.
Also need to start preparing for the next semester. I will be teaching Law of Torts and Consumer Protection, and Legal English to the first year students. Excited for the upcoming semester but stressed about an upcoming exam for which I am not prepared at all.
Here's hoping I complete all my goals.
Law school actually made me change my opinion on what is my favorite Ace Attorney game, no joke. Before attending law school, it was Trials and Tribulations, mainly because I like the story and Godot is a pretty awesome character.
After law school…AA4. None of the other games come even close.
Klavier is 100% the best prosecutor in the series, solely because he comes the closest to how real life prosecutors are (I promise you, they’re not evil villains trying to improve their conviction record). Ema Skye is the best detective because of how jaded she is, which feels appropriate because that’s how most people feel once they start working in criminal law (source: me, who has actually worked on criminal cases).
Also, I feel a lot closer to Apollo Justice than I did to Phoenix Wright. No offense to Phoenix, but I like how AA4 really honed in on how frustrated Apollo feels with the justice system. Like when Phoenix revealed he used falsified evidence, that felt…I don’t want to say true to life, but I like the ethical dilemma there. I mean, in law school, there’s a whole SUBJECT dedicated to ethics, so I appreciate AA4’s willingness to discuss this topic.
Also also, a JURY SYSTEM. Holy shit, an actual jury system! And Phoenix got disbarred for using falsified evidence! Actual consequences from the state bar! And the main case was concerning a will/inheritances!
I’m not gonna say AA4 was a perfect game, and it’s still not a perfect representation of the legal field. But it’s the only AA game that I played that comes closest, which is a low bar but hey, they at least set the bar.
I just want to be beautiful and disgustingly overeducated ✨

Law school is coming for my soul 🫠
the fact i had to make a criminal law project to prove an act as murder that this afternoon i found myself digging in the internet archives for an article from winter 1996 which said strangulating someone for 10-15 seconds will cause unconsciousness and if persisted for 4-5 mins can cause death, now I can cite this and i got what i wanted and now i am so happy cause i actually locked tf in and completed one issue entirely 🕺🏻😤
