You can’t just look at a drowning man and not help okay GIVE TIPS YOURE A MEDICAL ASPIRANT HEYLooOoO????
YES MAMMM. I WILL TRY MY BEST
[ Its just that I was in really bad place last year so didnt study anything at all but I do remember most of organic stuff from when i was in 12th (as I said before I have zero clue how my brain remembers this stuff) so I will try to give you tips on that basis ]
1) Basics , BASICS , BASICS
Trust me when I say this... you will probably forget the basics when you are in a 4 hour caffeine induced Organic Chem study session trying make sense of "why tf does it work like that".
Keep a Flowchart or a piece of A4 filled with absolute basic stuff. (i am talking abt even the naming a compound levels of basic stuff btw)
2) A lot of rules you learn have exceptions after two paragraphs.
Most of the compounds are good ones. They obey the rules that we studied. But there will always be the rebels. They will confuse you and make you want to pull out your hair. They will always try to stab you in the back. Study them intensely.
3) Optical Isomerism = PAIN. (atleast for me)
It wasn't always like that tho. The institute I studied in brought a college prof to teach us organic chem. He was strict (and a misogynist) but dude knew how to teach. I dont remember most of Organic now but at the time his notes of Optical is the only reason I scored some marks.
4) Flashcards my beloved <3
You know that long questions that just show one compound the put it through a series of reactions with x,y and z and just show you the last product. That thing is mostly memorization. My best bet was flashcards. I used them for a while (but then I got bored and my adhd kicked in)
These kinda worked for me but I would advice you to ask others too!! Maybe @meowingbackatcats could help more?
(tell me if you want old Organic notes. If it was one thing I was good at it was notes)
Edit 1: I found this resource. I think I might help!!
