who do u think i have questions is about? camila always confused me w that bc one time she says its abt a friendship then a relationship but when someone asked her who it was a about and said “is it a guy” or smth like that and she said “not a guy” so idk
I Have Questions is mostly about Dinah but it can be applied to all of the girls.
Most shippers think it was entirely written about Lauren but Camila herself confirmed it was about a friendship and although she wrote it with one person in mind she did say that it could apply to others.
Which essentially is saying in code 'it's about the girls'
The channel grabbed the snippet I am talking about, it happens 5 seconds in.
Camila had been writing this song for nearly/over a year before it was released 21st May 2017.
So, she had been writing this song while in the band and it was clear through many interviews and promo the girls done during the 7/27 era that there was immense tension and awkwardness going on between Camila and the four girls. (maybe not Dinah as much at that time).
This song is about her personal anxieties and anger towards people judging her character incorrectly and not leaving her with the closure she felt like she needed and deserved at that time.
It was evident the girls were pushing away from her just as much as she was with them, the whole thing that went down was so toxic and the labels created so much more discourse because of how they handled everything.
Dinah and Camila especially were best best friends, for Dinah to eventually take the side of the girls and maybe in a way 'betray' Camila too with not the nicest behaviour that cut Camila even deeper.
Let me make one thing clear, none of them were angels throughout this all. But the biggest dickheads was management which created so much more toxicity to therefore generate more money from all this.
But yeah this song is about Camila's struggle with how the girls were maybe icing her out more as her solo desires became more evident.
I really love this song, it's so slept on and such a powerful lyrical masterpiece.
Again this is all speculation and my opinion :)
