ignore some of my notes i didn’t realize how many little details i needed to comb through the fic to find and there were very key things i skipped over entirely the first time 😭

Maybe the worst part is that Janus doesn’t really care that he knows it’s wrong. He’s all too aware of the consequences of his actions, the fact that he really shouldn’t be doing this, perusing this, acting like this. But he doesn’t care, and that’s probably what makes him a bad person.

Patton is infinitely sweet, he's a good person. Janus knows he isn't. He's barely even a human. He knows. And he doesn't care. He doesn't have the strength. Patton is solid, and warm, and real. Patton is everything Janus could never be. Maybe that's why Janus finds him so arousing. He just can't resist.

Or, Janus realises he might care. Maybe just a little bit. Maybe a lot.

two. nobody butters me up like you (and nobody fucks me like me):

Maybe the worst part is that Patton hadn’t even considered this might be wrong. Typically, he’s a picture of morality — the poster child for good, rather than bad. He’s usually maddeningly focused on doing the right thing, the correct thing, the best thing. But he hadn't even paused to consider this could be wrong, so maybe he's a bad person.

Janus is a bad person. It’s clear to him now. Laying flat on his bed, limbs spread in the morning light, it’s becoming abundantly obvious that he is, without a doubt, a bad person. Alongside that, not only is he a bad person, he’s bad at being a person. If he can just (never) see Patton again, if he can just (avoid a way) to make it up to him, then everything can be alright. He can dispel this horrible pressure in his gut, he can go back to the way things were.

But Patton had made him feel so alive, and that was an easy thing to get addicted to.

Or, closure is a funny old thing, isn't it?

three. out of place and underdressed:

If there's one thing Logan has, it's a problem. In fact, he has a problem with just about everything. With the actions of his friends, with the culture surrounding college, with his general direction in life. He's out of control, battling to break out of the glass box he's been placed within. He's tired, and he's sick of living like this, and he has a problem.

Remus doesn't really have any problems, not proper ones, not like Janus, and not like Logan. He's always out of breath, always running a marathon. Because if he stops, for even a second, everything will catch up with him, and he'll be doomed. He's just trying to live life while he's able, trying to have fun whilst he can. Because he doesn't really have a problem, not real ones anyway.

Or, Remus and Logan have been hooking up for two weeks, and something is developing.
