I had planned to spend all day sewing today with the intention of finishing a fun three-yard quilt for myself. Well, I did have a fun time sewing all day, but this is not the quilt I had planned to make. My sister texted just as I finished breakfast asking if I had any donation quilts available for a coworker of hers going through some medical struggles that have resulted in being cold all the time in the office. Luckily I had this fabric in my stash just waiting to be made into a donation quilt, so I said yes. Ten and a half hours later (eight of that actively spent on the project) I had a finished quilt. I do believe this is the fastest I’ve gone from idea for a particular quilt to finished quilt so you’ll have to forgive the lack of progress photos.

I saw a centipede crawling through a lattice on my porch the other night. I can't really do the image justice since Im still figuring things out, but it was both beautiful and disturbing. It was zipping around, exoskeleton reflecting a silvery blue in the moonlight. Almost dancing between the sections of wood.
