Chelsea Gray Delivers Two Clutch Threes as Aces Stun Fever in Overtime Thriller
The Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever gave us one of the best WNBA games of the season Thursday night, and it came down to the biggest moments from one of the league's biggest stars.
From the opening tip, both teams brought playoff-level intensity. Defense was the story for much of the night, with every possession feeling important as the game remained close. The Fever leaned on the trio of Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Caitlin Clark, while the Aces answered behind Jackie Young, A'ja Wilson, and Tiffany Mitchell Smith, setting up an unforgettable finish.
When it looked like Indiana had done enough to protect home court, Chelsea Gray reminded everyone why she's one of the most clutch guards in basketball.
With the game on the line in regulation, Gray buried a deep three-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime. Then, after another back-and-forth battle in the extra period, she did it again—knocking down another game-winning three at the buzzer to give Las Vegas an incredible 86-84 road victory.
Jackie Young and A'ja Wilson continued to make winning plays throughout the comeback, while Indiana received strong performances from Mitchell, Boston, and Clark. Despite the loss, the Fever showed why they're one of the WNBA's rising contenders, matching the defending champions possession for possession for most of the night.
But this game belonged to Chelsea Gray.
The "Point Gawd" delivered two of the biggest shots of the WNBA season, proving once again that when the pressure is highest, she's one of the players you want with the basketball.
If this matchup is a preview of what's to come later this season, WNBA fans are in for an incredible finish.

The Aces Just Turned the Commissioner’s Cup into a Fight
WNBA Commissioner’s Cup 2026 heats up as the Aces stop the Lynx, the Liberty clinch the East, and June’s title race turns tense.
The WNBA Commissioner’s Cup 2026 stopped feeling like a clean Liberty-Lynx collision the moment Las Vegas crashed through the door. Minnesota had the perfect Cup rhythm, New York had already clinched the East, and then A’ja Wilson and the Aces turned one late 100-97 thriller into a full reset of the race. That is what makes this tournament feel sharper than a midseason sidebar. It has pressure, grudges, and teams revealing playoff truths before July even arrives. The Liberty still look built for June with Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and Sabrina Ionescu back in rhythm. The Lynx still defend like a machine, even after losing their first Cup game. But Vegas brought teeth, free throws, and championship memory. Suddenly the bracket feels less like a coronation and more like a three-team argument. If this is only the preview, the WNBA playoffs might already be sending warnings from every possible direction.
