PART 1: All of the Times Harry, Louis, Their Family & Friends Have Denied Larry
While doing my research on various topics regarding Larry, I came across a post on here that compiled many of the denials and statements made by Harry, Louis, their family members, friends, and people within their circle. While it was incredibly useful, a lot has happened since then, including additional comments and denials that weren’t included in the original post.
Because of that, I decided to put together my own updated and expanded version. I’ve also seen some Larries claim that Harry and Louis have never denied Larry, which anyone who has been in the fandom long enough and paid attention knows simply isn’t true.
So, here's of the many times that Harry, Louis, their families, friends, and others close to them that have denied and pushed back against Larry over the years. Enjoy!
1. Louis
Let's start with Louis. On September 16th 2012, Louis went on a little rant about Larry on Twitter. He tweeted, calling it a “ridiculous conspiracy theory,” and even said that Larry was “the biggest load of bullshit” that he had ever heard.
Larries ended up getting defensive and started attacking Jay, Louis’ mother, after she spoke up in support of him and Eleanor. Louis then had to come back and address the harassment once again with this tweet.
Not long after this, in September 2012, Louis addressed Larry again in an interview, saying it was no longer funny and had become difficult to deal with. He even said that the rumors were starting to affect the way he and Harry acted around each other in public.
In an interview with The Hot Hits in late 2012, Louis addressed the harassment directed at his girlfriend Eleanor and his mother, saying that the people responsible (Larries) should be “put in their place.”
In November 2013, Louis called the rumors “fucking annoying.” When asked if he could at least appreciate the effort that fans put into the theory, he said, “I wouldn’t say it was impressive.”
In 2014 after a reporter implied that he was gay, Louis publicly responded to her on Twitter "I am in fact straight.”
In an interview with The Sun in 2017, Louis denied Larry again.
In an interview that Louis did with Andy Cohen, Louis was asked once again about Larry and denied it, as always.
In a 2024 interview with G1, Louis said that the rumors irritated him and that some people will not see the truth for what it is. And as of recently, in 2025, he also tweeted that the conspiracy theories surrounding his relationship, son, and family had become “too hurtful” to see. Congratulations Larries, you made twitter an awful and toxic environment for him.
2. Harry
During a 2013 interview with Sunrise Australia, Harry was shown a magazine featuring photoshopped images of him and Louis kissing. When asked if there was anything going on between them, he said, “No.”
Now i am not sure if this is real or not, so take it for what you will. This is a direct Twitter message, presumably with a fan, likely from around 2013 or 2014.
In April 2016, a Venezuelan fan got the chance to FaceTime Harry and ask him a few questions. One of the questions she asked was whether Larry was real, to which he replied, “No.” She later shared this on Twitter, and it was also reported by some media outlets, such as CleverNews
During a 2017 promo interview, Harry was directly asked whether “Sweet Creature” was about Louis. Once again, he denied Larry, saying he would “lean towards no." You can clearly tell that he seems annoyed and a bit uncomfortable.
He also denied it again with USA Today
While Harry doesn’t mention Larry by name here, I think this is worth including. In his 2022 Rolling Stone interview, he spoke about having to warn the people he dates about online rumors that aren’t real, and that it can get “really crazy,” and can be “really mean.”
3. Liam
In 2012, Liam made his feelings on Larry known, tweeting to a fan, “I think the Larry stuff needs to stop anyway…” He also responded to a fan on Instagram in 2013/2014 asking if Larry was real, saying, “It’s not. I find it very strange tbh.”
In 2015 Liam addressed Larry in an interview with Attitude Magazine. He called it “absolutely nuts,” compared it to a conspiracy or cult, and said it frustrated him because he knew it wasn’t true. He was certainly right about it being a cult 😭
Liam denies Larry in an interview with KDWB 101.3 in 2017 and on a live around 2020 where he was asked if Larry was disrespectful.
4. Zayn
During an interview with FADER Magazine in 2016, Zayn said there were no secret relationships going on with any of the band members. He even said the rumors weren't funny, and was still quite hard for them, affecting how they interacted in public with each other.
5. Gemma Styles (Harry's Sister)
In April of 2014, Gemma responded to a tweet from Eleanor after Larries claimed she was “hinting” that Larry was real. Not long after, she responded to a Larry on her Tumblr, where she called Larries “a waste.”
A week after Louis’ son was born, Gemma liked a photo of a jacket with the words “Not Your Baby” on the back. Larries believed it was her way of hinting at “Babygate.” When a fan later asked her about it on twitter, she made it clear that she wasn’t thinking about their theories.
In 2016, Gemma posted a photo of graffiti on her Instagram, which made Larries believe that it somehow proved Larry, seemingly because the graffiti featured blue eyes. When a Larrie commented “confirms larry” under her post, Gemma responded, “are you mental?”
As of recently May 2026, Gemma liked this post criticizing shipping culture and its harmful effects. The post referenced Larry and included Louis’ comments about how it negatively affected his friendship with Harry. I think this makes it pretty clear how Gemma feels about Larry
