Today, I joined a VeggieTales discord. I wasn’t surprised that there would obviously be Christians or that it would be different from Tumblr.
I saw that people did bring up the subject of shipping, especially between Larry. There was a gay wedding picture there too!
I brought up shipping in the chat and dropped a joke here or there about Larribald. One person showed disgust, but I chalked it to ew shipping.
Then they had the audacity to say & I quote; “I don't think gay relationship would appear in the Veggietales series. Besides, it's a Christian show and God doesn't allow it.”
To avoid conflict, I responded that I think God accepts gays, but that I will agree to disagree. The main man on Discord told me he’s had to get people involved with this matter and said I handled this matter very maturely and thanked me, dismissing this homophobe.
Now listen, I’m bi. I’m a Catholic and I love Jesus. Jesus is welcoming to everyone. God loves everybody. I want every LGBTQ+ person to fucking know that. You are accepted in the eyes of God. Please know that. Don’t listen to bigots.
