At my university, one part of the studies includes creating a business plan, and I need your help! Especially if you are a fan of RPG, LARPG, Pen&Paper and/or cosplay. Or if you even have interest in these activities.
Our hypothetical product is a website/ app for people active or interested in the above mentioned hobbies. The working title is:
Multiverse - Featured Worlds
It is supposed to be a social media platform with a focus on meeting and chatting with new people in these more niche hobbies - without having to awkwardly dance around the question if the other is even interested in them.
We noticed that forums exist like sand at the beach, but they are cluttered and you often don’t know how active they are and posts from 2019 mix with posts from 2008. It is often chaotic and not well organized. We on the other hand want to grow an active and up-to-date community.
It is supposed to be a save space. A place where role-playing-gamers can find groups to play with and organize campaigns (e.g. when and where to play). A place where cosplayers can show off their work and plan meet-ups for conventions. A place where newcomers can integrate into the community and veterans can strenghten their connections.
Of course, since we are a business (even if a hypothetical one) we won’t be able to release this kind of thing for free. If we would, not only would we have to advertise a lot (!), we would also have to sell a lot of your data to 3rd parties. But we know ourselves, how annoying that is and we want to keep these things to an absolute minimum.
The solution at the moment is to distinguish between free and premium accounts. Usually the price for a premium would be round about 5€ (5.70$) per month (with a plan of 50€ per year). But since we want to keep 3rd party companies out as much as we can, we would have to raise these prices to stay competitive as a company, while providing a more secure environment for you.
Now, this is the part where you come in! I have a handful of questions, regarding the project, and it would make me very happy if you could take a few minutes to answer them (＾▽＾). And even if you don’t want to it would be nice if you could reblog this post, so that it can reach more people :D
1) In which of the above mentioned categories (Pen&Paper, Cosplay, LARP) are you active or have interest in?
2) How many people do you know that are active in one or multiple categories?
3) Are you in solid groups for your hobby? Or do you change them regularly?
4) Would you use a social platform like our “Multiverse” to connect with people in the world of roleplaying?
5) Would you be willing to pay more to be part of this platform if it meant that your data is save? (How much would you be willing to pay?)
