Crispy Rice Salad with Gochujang Mushrooms

I made Lao Hatsune Miku! It was hard to choose between making the Lao and a Chinese American one, Since “where i’m from” is a bit complicated— I’m British/American (Born in London, moved to the States) With Lao fraternal family, and part Taiwanese, part Central Chinese family on my moms side,,, but I’ve never actually visited either countries in Asia! Anyways— I’m pretty proud of this, she’s holding sticky rice, and papaya salad (yummm) 🇱🇦

I've always wanted to draw myself in my traditional clothing; haven't gotten around to it until now.

Olé Viravong Scovill, was born on February 17, 1977 in Laos. She started painting and drawing since a young age and attended a Chinese Elementary School from first grade to sixth grade, then moved to Vientiane Lao High School. Olé left Laos to study at the Mahasarakham University in Thailand in 1995. She graduated with a BA in Visual Art in 2000.
