everytime I'm reminded of or see something about lanterns I'm immediately irritated
"only one can wear the ring" and that military green background colour is a deliberate choice.
they're going the cop/soldier bootlicking route, and yeah some people consider the GL Corp members as space cops, but that's been a more modern take post the silver age?? where the lanterns seemed more outlaw esque. outside of killing, lanterns could kind of do whatever they wanted. just drop in on a planet in their sector and dole out whatever they deem as justice or peacekeeping
if this show is going to change the lore, and set it up as a passing of the torch copaganda series just do that instead of dragging green lantern into it
I saw that some people were upset about the Lanterns trailer and I was wondering if they held any water and now having watched the trailer, I can see why ppl are mad. Without even getting into specific criticisms, off the bat it seems weird to have two powerhouses of the Justice League and the DC Universe have a grounded, Earth-based crime drama. When I think Green Lantern, I don’t think regular human crime on Earth, certain not two of them fighting over one ring.
DC fans so comic-brained they forgot movies/tv aren't just made by one guy and his art team

I saw that some people were frustrated with the Green Lantern suit not looking... Green, (which is valid). But when I rewatched it I had the brightness up loads (I was showing my dad who prefers a brighter screen, whereas I use the lowest brightness with an extra dim filter) and there is green in it, but the lighting doesn't show it properly, so I took a screenshot, played around with the shadows, contrast and saturation in the gallery app and...
*It's still green*
Before editing you can only really see the green on the shoulder.
(I don't know why it's not a construct though, it might be some sort of symbolism for Hal being pressured to step down and let the "substitute teacher" take over, so this might be some sort of mental imagery of it)
IGHT EVERYONE now we all collectively pray that Lanterns doesnt even MENTION Alan Scott and/or his homosexuality! PRAY!!!!!!!!
Every time something about Lanterns comes up i know it might be a sign to the inevitable awful end this show might have but i. Remain hoping . Ive never been so hyped for a series in my life and im trying to stay delusional
