It’s ableist to use the word “pedophile” interchangeably with "abuser" (or whatever).
Pedophilia is an actual mental illness. And just because someone has it does not make them a bad person. It is, by definition, thoughts and feelings. And thoughts and feelings do not automatically equal action. To imply or explicitly say or act like they do is ableist.
When you’re talking about people who harm children, call them what they are - abusers, predators, etc. And stop vilifying a mental illness.
Subject Agency 101: Beyond the Myths
Forget autopilot. Your safety doesn't depend on a "protective subconscious." It depends on you, conscious and active. Agency is something you do, not something you magically have.
Negotiate from clarity. Your first line of defense is explicit negotiation before entering trance. Limits, desires, safewords. If you can't speak clearly outside, there's no safety inside.
Train your "NO". Practice rejecting suggestions and using your safeword inside trance, from day one. It's a muscle that strengthens with use. An ethical hypnotist will celebrate you for it.
Know and fortify yourself. Work on your self-knowledge and self-esteem. Fawn responses or trauma make it harder to hold boundaries. Your psychological well-being is your fundamental shield.
Claim your power (and your responsibility). You are the person ultimately responsible for your safety. Empower yourself with knowledge, practice, and the choice to play only with people who respect your active agency, not those who promise magical protection.

Found out recently that a lot of folks do not know that the dictionary definition of "lame" is:
"Disabled so that movement, especially walking, is difficult or impossible".
Yes, the word lame is often used to mean uncool/stupid/goofy, but using it that way is basically like saying gay when you mean pathetic. Can we please spread awareness about this? It stings.

"Anyone can do anything if they try hard enough" statements are ableist. If you challenge those who say such things, they'll reply, "I didn't mean disabled people." They are excluding disabled people from "anyone" from the start. That's ableism. emojis: black heart, blue heart, masked, spoon

For reference:
I am not the person to have sex with. I am an object the one can use to get pleasure.
The difference is huge.
reminder that ableist vocabulary is EVERYWHERE and i'm so sick of it. it's really disturbing how normalised some of these words/phrases are, and many people use them every day without being aware of the implications of using them.
here is a (non-comprehensive) list of ableist words you should remove from your vocabulary:
lame
crazy
lunatic
the r slur
psycho
stupid
dumb
idiot
misusing words such as "deaf" and "blind" (e.g. "i'm so blind" after not being able to find something)
instead of referring to something as "crazy", you could easily use wild. instead of describing something as "stupid", you could easily say "silly" or "ridiculous". language matters.
