Lanark Highlands 🍁

I actually got out a bit late so the light was very flat and it had started to get dark already. The days aren't that long at this time of year. But what made me go out anyway was that everything was covered in frost. Every single tree now became an ice sculpture and the bare branches seemed to have their own inner light. I walked down by the lake just a few hundred meters from where I live. I ran into a few people I know and stopped for some nice chats. I did found some motifs that I do have hopes for but will have to take a closer look at later. When I felt that most of the light was gone, I sat down on a bench with a cup of hot coffee while I just sat back and enjoyed the surroundings. While I was sitting there, a couple came down to have a bath in the ice cold water not far from where I was. They seemed to enjoy the ice cold water as much as I enjoyed my hot coffee. Now it was getting so dark that people turn on the lights in their homes and the warm light from the city lights lit up part of the night sky. This gave me some renewed energy and I saw some potential for some more photography. Down on the right you can see the bench I was sitting on just minutes ago. Camera sensors are very sensitive to color shifts, but here I think it helps to create some exciting colors in the otherwise completely cloud covered sky.
