My random animal interest, besides guinea pigs, are lampreys.
I think most of my love for them has to do with people not liking them. They’re just little parasitic tubes (well, most of them are parasitic, anyways). Plus they’ve literally been around for hundreds of millions of years! I especially really like the Pacific Lamprey; they can literally climb up waterfalls using their suction :)
The mutagenic plankton of Seep has elevated the minds of a kind of lampreys. The now enlightened lampreys Feared further mutation, so they developed cybernetics as fast as they could, and escaped to the driest of deserts. Sometimes, they still visit the coasts, in the safety of sealed mechs.
