Laughter and Mourning, the daughters of Húrin. (Originally posted on the SWG for the Orctober challenge prompt “eyes”.)
blood is thick, tears are thicker
The fact that Morwen and her son Túrin were both buried in a grave that withstood the fall of Beleriand, while Húrin and his daughter Nienor both cast themselves into the Sea, and poor Lalaith was in between - interred in the earth like her mother and brother, but in a grave that was eventually swept into the Sea like her father and sister…
The Children of Húrin is poetry.

You don’t know me, sister. Our mother never speaks my name. (Why would she speak of laughter, when only sorrow reigns?) You’ll never know me, sister, nor our father’s love. (But he will see your anguish, from his dreadful seat above.) Yet you’ve always known the shadow of the girl I used to be: The girl who lived, the girl who died, the girl that they still see. & you’ll come to know our brother, in a way that makes your end, —And when you die, I’m waiting, if you’ll but be my friend.

Urdolwen, a Qenya cognate of an early name for Gurthang
I thought the similarity between Urwen and Urdolwen was cute (despite the difference in language of course), so I made a little something with them.
Gurthang says “Ah, a lady after my own name!” in case it’s hard to see.
(+ bonus)
just a Hadorian girl and her medieval battle tank
Who's this Silmarillion character?
Morwen
Nienor
Aredhel
Haleth
Lalaith
