I don't know if the writers/directors were consciously trying to make these parallels (I doubt it) but nevertheless I liked seeing them. Goes to show that what they train for as firefighters actually is applicable in high stakes situations

bobby, barely holding it together himself, sees hen about to burst into tears and immediately takes her under his arm, shoving aside his terror and grief to comfort her. eddie beelines to a shell-shocked chim, needing to comfort, needing camaraderie. but his jaw is clenched, his chin wobbling violently, he's shaking his head desperately to keep the roaring waves of terror at bay. so bobby grabs him too, pulling him close, allowing eddie to lean on him too. it doesn't matter that bobby feels like he's about to shatter right there, it doesn't matter that it feels like his heart is being dragged away from him on a hospital stretcher, what matters is that his team is falling apart and he has to keep them together.

Or something happens like an explosion in the gala hall and now they have to be the ones to get themselves out.

(also one of them was lowkey highkey blond and hot and Buck-coded and I did my very best not to stare/drool/die/talk about buddie)
