Alabama Bans Women’s Rights
I’m not a very political person, but I think it is time to get loud about a few things that have been going on:
I don’t believe women can control miscarriages.
I don’t believe women should be punished for them.
I don’t believe women deserve less bodily autonomy than corpses.
I don’t believe women only take birth control to prevent pregnancy.
I do not believe that the punishment for an abortion should be greater than the punishment for rape.
You don’t believe in abortion?
I respect that.
I don’t believe that this bill was passed about abortion.
The laws being passed in our country are about taking women’s rights.
Alabama has one of the highest mother mortality rates in the United States.
Alabama has one of the highest percentages of children living in poverty in United States.
Could we maybe start passing laws to help families that are living?
Could we maybe stop passing laws that give women jail time for wanting access to safe abortions or birth control?
Could we maybe allow women to make the decisions for their body?

Every single vote “yes” to pass this bill was cast by a man.
This is about more than if you are a democrat or a republican. You can be against abortion, and I will respect that 100%. But if you are against healthcare for women, and believe that women should go to prison for miscarriages or using birth control, I do not respect that.
I am a feminist. You will not find me screaming about women’s rights to have a lady sign on a crosswalk. You will find me standing with all of the women who want safe and easily accessible healthcare.
