Tagged by @cuubism Thank you!! đ Heads up: if you're tagged, you don't need to read it alllll even if you do want to participate đ
1) The Last book I read:
I'm pretty sure it was Tress of the Emerald Sea, what a delight!
2) A book I recommend:
.... The Way of Kings... (The Stormlight Archive)
3) A book that I couldnât put down:
The second book of The Stormlight Archive, Words of Radiance had me by my throat like nothing else. wow. đđť
4) A book Iâve read twice (or more):
Listen. I'll list something other than The Stormlight Archive just because this is getting embarrassing. The books I used to regularly reread were: HP, Eragon and Assassin's Apprentice. (full series rereads, crossing the 10 each) đ
5) A book on my TBR:
I have a hefty amount of books I bought and never read. Ranging from classics to cheap fantasy-- but alas, my brain is fixated on the other author who doesn't disappoint me and so I just stick to his books XD
Some of the books sitting on my ineffective 'shame you into reading' shelf are: Captive Prince, the rest of the Wolfsong series, the.... shadowhunters books... the new trilogy about Fitz which I have in hardcovers yet never read. And some... others...
6) A book Iâve put down:
One of the reasons I am avoidant of taking on new books at all is because I have a very hard time putting down books I started. I'll suffer through entire series just for the few grains of gratification in the end. Or to... spitefullfy and confidently say it sucked balls.
However... three series managed to break me.
First being GoT, I just didn't manage to get through, not even 10 chapters. A true oddedity for me, but I just couldn't.
Second being The Witcher. I managed to power through like 4-5 books? And then I just couldn't do this to myself anymore. It was so, so, so not my vibe. (even while the pc game is about my most favorite game ever.) đ¤ˇđťââď¸
And lastly, although I think I did finish the entire series before deciding that if ever a new book came out, I'll never read it, was the-- god what's the name of it... the First Law Trilogy â The Blade Itself etc from joe abercrombie. What a bleak series! Oh my god!
7) A book on my wish list:
My honest wishlist is just to keep on reading Brando Sando in my slow and enjoying-it phase... Although I admit that there's a large amount of those new spicy fantasy books apparently being released that shorts recommend and older folk rant about, so I naturally do want to check it out to see what's up with that but.... in truth... I just want to keep on enjoying Brando Sando XD
8) A favorite book from childhood:
I genuinely really loved Eragon. Oh and Artemis Fowl was all fun. I also really loved Tunnel in the Sky, like really.
9) A book you would give to a friend:
ngl it'll be an unapologetic The Way of Kings with big and passionate begging session of 'please give it a try' like for real.
In case any one of you is actually interested--- (you don't have to read this part) -inhales deeply-
The Way of Kings is a truly misleading book, that might leave you with the impression that the book is all about wars and kings but that is the furthest from the truth a description and a cover and a name can go.
It has fantasy, it has deep and rich world building, elaborate magic system that is deeply embedded into the story, culture and literal every single stone of the world. There's politics, culture, introspection, deep and varied characters, each reading like the main character of the story, having unique and vibrant personality and motivations.
It is not just a book, it is a work of true and deep love for the genre and writing in general. Beautifully done, enriching and enticing.
And what's most important for people who read too many books?
Hard to predict. It managed to pull the rug from underneath my feet in the most surprising and pleasing ways. Brandon writes in a way that is not 'shock just to shock' nor 'drama just for drama'. Every single scene is true, and forward. You always have everything right in front of you, the key is that you do not know how to put it all together just yet.
That can finally give that refreshing 'I don't know where it's heading but I'm enjoying the experience" I feel I had lost over the years, being able to recognize patterns too easily and predict writing intentions.
God, what a book! It does however have a rough learning curve, being such a massive world, it takes time to ease you in. Say about at least 5 chapters in at the minimum. On a personal note, I recommend the audiobooks read by kate reading and michael kramer, literally the best experience I've ever had, listening to those two bring to life every character and accent and scene, wow!
10) A book of poetry or lyrics that you own:
Come to think of it, I don't actually own any. Ha.
11) A nonfiction book you own:
I don't haha! Looking back, it's a lie, I have a few phycology books gathering dust in various hiding spots.
12) What are you currently reading:
........The Way of Kings....
13) What are you planning on reading next?
.....Words of Radiance.... haha. đ
Y'all don't need to read all them answers in case you just want to answer it for yourself, or you can skip, too đđđ

Safe Alexander, Happy Magnus
Magnus glares at the front door of the loft, willing it to open.
Which is funny when you think about it, since he CAN make it open with a flick of his hand but at this moment, he wants it to be opened by his husband.
Magnus paces over to the window and glares out at the night sky. It's better to be angry at nothing, then to let his mind wander to where Alec might be.
And to wonder if Alec is okay.
Magnus shakes his head at that. He would know if Alec were seriously hurt. He would feel it in his gut or his heart.
At least, that is what Magnus keeps telling himself.
A fantasy au wherein alec is a guardian angel, magnus is a demon who makes deals, and maybe theyâre not as different as they think.
written as a gift for @ladymatt for the malec secret santa 2020
As the flames at Magnusâ feet die out, he takes in his surroundings inquisitively. Beneath his boots are tentative chalk lines, thin and light in places, that connect into a pentagram drawn on a cracked cement floor. The room he is in is vast and all but empty, with high ceilings and exposed metal beams. A warehouse, most likely; the kind of place a human might deem a safe, neutral location for a demon summoning. As he turned to his left, a woman, young in years but with a heaviness weighing on her that belied her age, was staring at him from a few feet away with a tattered hardback journal clutched in one hand.
âYou called me,â he stated, standing a few steps away from the barrier line. âI assume that because you did the summoning correctly and seemâŚprepared, that you know what it is that I do.â
She looked almost startled at being addressed, but the expression lasted only a moment before she held it back with a clenched jaw and narrowed eyes. âI know what Iâm doing,â she asserted, though her voice wavered slightly.
After analyzing the detailing of the pentagram, Magnus touched the tip of his boot to a symbol that had been incorrectly drawn. âItâs an impressive work, but I would suggest you study a bit more next time. This right hereâŚleaves an opening.â
Now the woman looked terrified, frozen in place with her arms encircling her middle protectively.
With a slightly sardonic chuckle, he shook his head. âIf I was going to hurt you, I wouldnât have pointed out your error.â He stepped closer to the edge line, closer to her. âAfter all, you wish to make a deal, yes? Which means you have something I would be happy to take. I donât want to ruin that opportunity for myself just yet.â
read on ao3
For a moment, he just looked at her, observing. She had very short hair, so blonde it was practically white, and deep brown, almost black, eyes. Her pupils were almost swallowed up by the darkness of the iris. There was a small smattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose and dusting the tops of her cheeks, looking oddly childlike in the midst of her worn features. He was well-versed in reading humans after all these centuries, and he could see in her an authenticity that caught his attention. âWhatâs your name?â
âAlana. Alana Clarke. And I want to make a deal.â
âWell then,â Magnus began, steepling his fingers thoughtfully, âtell me, to what do I owe this summons?â
âIâŚhave something I want to forget.â Her voice wavered slightly on the last word.
âSomeone,â Magnus stated in realization. âA deal with me requires specificity, Ms. Clarke.â
It took a moment before she hesitantly elaborated further. âMy husband. He wasâŚcold. And unable to love, in the end. I never felt like I could leave him. One day, he snapped and IâŚI didnât have a choice. I canât let the memory of him control my life anymore. I canât bear to let him change me the way Iâm afraid he might.â
Rubbing his fingers together contemplatively, he replied, âThat is a very serious choice to make. And one that cannot be undone. As luck would have it, it would be quite easy for me to give you what youâre asking for, but it has a steep price. And not just your soul. Are you certain this is what you want?â
Her silence was only too telling.
With a firm shake of his head, Magnus took a step back. âYou must be sure. I am neither judge nor jury; I will only carry out what our deal entails. I urge you strongly to consider this. Memory cannot just be given and taken on a whim. Once I remove it, it will be permanent.â
Alana shook her head with a tired sigh. âI just⌠I canât sleep, I canât breathe, I canât think⌠I donât know how to go on without doing something. Iââ Abruptly cutting herself off, she stood up a little straighter and schooled her expression into a carefully curated stoicism. âI have to take the responsibility, and I will.â
It had been a long while since someone with such conviction had come to Magnus like this. Often, those who summoned him didnât understand the gravity of the situation they were making for themselves, but it was their mistake to make. This time, somehow, he couldnât bear the thought of allowing her to follow them down that path of regret lurking in the future.
âFor your benefit, I will not yet make the deal,â he began. âI require certainty, and I do not see that in you. Iâm going to give you another opportunity to think very carefully about just what is worth the price of your soul before you sign it over to me.â
**
The next time Magnus found himself standing in the ash and last embers of unholy flame in the middle of the old warehouse, the person standing opposite him was not Alana Clarke.
Instead, it was a tall, dark haired man with a stern look on his face, standing stock-still with his hands behind his back. He was not entirely mortal, nor human, Magnus realized upon observing the presence of spiritual matter along the lines of his shoulders and down his spine. It also wasnât lost on him that the man had a blade made of adamas tucked away inside the folds of his jacket. It was an ancient kind of weapon, not only priceless but rare. Â
The pentagram Magnus was standing on was far more detailed than the one that Alana had used to summon him, rooted in much stronger magic. The kind of magic that could only be infused by a summoner of great power. âIâm impressed,â he mused, turning in place to observe the rest of the finer detail.
âYou made a deal with Alana Clarke,â the man stated coolly, as if he hadnât heard a thing. âFor her soul. And youâre going to have to rescind.â
Magnus couldnât help but be amused by the situation. âDemon-client confidentiality prevents me from discussing any of this with you, Iâm afraid.â But his curiosity was piqued. Especially when he realized that the faint smell of angel blood had permeated the air around them.
Angel blood.
âOf course, I should have realized immediately.â He stepped up to the edge line of the pentagram to look closer. âWhich one of Razielâs guardians are you?â
A soft sigh of exasperation preceded one word: âAlexander.â
ââDefender of manâ, yes? Seems fitting.â If he didnât know better, Magnus would have said that Alexander preened almost imperceptibly at his words. âAnd Alana is in your care. Interesting, given the fact that she sought me out.â
The shadows of tenderness that had lingered on Alexanderâs face for mere seconds at the mention of her name disappeared altogether as his expression clouded over. âShe never should have summoned you. Her grief has blinded her, so I have to be the one to protect her.â
âYou almost believed that when you said it.â Magnus of all people knew what lying to oneself looked like. âThe truth is, it kills you that you canât save her from this grief. Your purpose is to protect her, but there are limits to what you can control, and now you have to face them.â
âYou canât undo the past,â Alexander countered, eyebrows drawn low over his eyes in consternation. âAnd thatâs what she truly wants. Whatever you offer her, it wonât be enough.â
âYou know what she went through. You know how greatly she mournsâboth for what she lost and what was never hers to begin with. Thereâs no price too steep for peace that can heal that kind of devastation.â
The angel visibly gritted his teeth, the muscle in his jaw jumping as it flexed. âRip up the deal and give her soul back.â The slow cadence he spoke with betrayed the anger that he was sealing away inside.
âIt might interest you to know that no official contract exists yet. Ms. Clarke hasnât made her choice, so if you have concerns, you should take them to your charge herself.â
The anger stoked by Magnusâ words became increasingly apparent in Alexander, and he rolled his neck to the side slightly as if trying to shake free of something. âI wonât ask again.â When Magnus offered no reply, he took a few steps back from the pentagram. âWell, youâre welcome to rot here until you change your mind, then.â
If he were a different person, if circumstances were trivial, he would enjoy an indulgent show of his own strength. As it were, Magnus only gloated a little as he stepped over the brusque chalk line meant to confine him. âI have no plans to do any such thing.â
Alexander was speechless, his mouth slightly agape as Magnus moved towards him. âThat isnât possible. No lesser demon canââ
Reaching out with a dark red tendril of magic, Magnus held him still. âPleased to meet you, Alexander. My name is Magnus Bane, reigning Prince of Edom and son of one of the First Hierarchyâa Knight of Hell.â When their faces were mere inches apart, he offered the faintest of smiles. âMs. Clarke has sought my protection now, so I suggest you donât try to interfere again.â Â Â
**
The air in the Hunterâs Moon was thick with the scent of stale alcohol and sweat-slicked bodies, and Magnus relished it. Perhaps it was the hedonistically human part of him, but there was something magnetic about the raw electricity of bodies pressed flush against one another beneath the hot lights.
His attention was diverted, however, when he noticed the man who had just walked in and was making his way to the bar. Alexander stood out in a crowd even when he was dressed down, wearing a grey Henley and jeans.
With a subtle gesture, Magnus caught the eye of a bartender gathering empty glasses abandoned on a nearby table. âThe man who just walked inâmake him a Vieux Carre.â A neatly folded hundred-dollar bill materialized between his thumb and middle finger, and he offered it to her.
The womanâs bracelets made a delicate jingling sound as she plucked it from his grasp. âHe looks intense. Ex of yours?â
With a chuckle, he brushed his thumb tenderly against her chin for a fleeting moment. âDiscretion, Maia.â
She rolled her eyes exaggeratedly. âCourtesy of?â
âAn associate.â
Despite looking thoroughly unconvinced, Maia pocketed the money and Magnus raised his drink to her in gratitude.
âAn olive branch?â Alexander guessed a few minutes later, setting his glass down on Magnusâ table.
âActually, itâs a black cherry garnish.â Magnus plucks the fruit from his glass and takes a bite of the tender flesh. âI figured a drink would be a good icebreaker.â
Alexander dropped down into the chair opposite him. âYou donât look surprised to see me here.â
âYouâve been following me on and off all day, angel. What am I meant to be surprised about?â
His expression darkens, his eyebrows drawn tightly together in consternation. âWe havenât struck an accord yet.â
Shaking his head faintly, Magnus downed the last of his Negroni. âThere is nothing to negotiate. You have no claim on the contract between me and my client.â
âShe is going to do this if I do not put a stop to it.â Rather than the burn of anger or the cold of hatred, Alexander looked pained to be saying those words. âI want to make a deal.â
Whatever he had been expecting Alexander to say, that certainly wasnât it. Magnus sat in stunned silence for a beat. âJust to be clear⌠You want to give me your eternal soul to release Alana Clarke from a contract that she implored me to honor?â
âYes.â He couldnât know what he was agreeing to, and yet there was a fierce determination on his face that almost made Magnus wish that it were possible. âLetâs do it.â
âIt is not possible, Alexander,â Magnus said somberly. His tone had gone soft despite himself. The desperation in the guardianâs eyes made something in his chest begin to ache. âEven if you did have a soul as the mortals do.â
It almost looked as though the faintest hint of vulnerable desperation was beginning to shine through the cracks of his façade. Instead, with a grunt of frustration, Alexander pushed back from the table and crossed his arms. âShe is under my protection, Magnus.â
âIn a manner of speaking, sheâs under mine too.â
âIf you control Edom, why even spend your time making deals for souls? Isnât that beneath you?â he retorted heatedly.
âItâs not about the souls. It never has been,â Magnus found himself saying. It had never been in his nature to be transparent, and frankly he had never had a reason to try. The way that Alexander wore his feelings so genuinely compelled him to reciprocate. âThe lesser demons who skulk around crossroads and manipulate the avaricious and covetous do so by nature. I choose the worthy summoners, the ones who want nothing more or less than resolution, and offer them peace.â
Staring down into his glass, Alexander heaved a sigh of frustration. âIndulging their emotions is not the same as protecting them.â
âThat depends on who you are protecting them from, hmm?â
Something in those words seemed to reach Alexander in a way that nothing else between them had. His shoulders hunched wearily, as though a great burden had been dropped and left foregone. âI donât know,â he surrendered.
**
Thunder rattled the window panes of the penthouse as the storm outside grew stronger, and Magnus could feel the glass shivering beneath his fingers where they were pressed on either side of Alexanderâs body. They were both mostly clothed, but where their bare skin touched, it felt like fire. Occasional flashes of lightning illuminated the otherwise darkened living room, so Magnus used the cacophony of harsh exhales and soft moans to guide his movements.
It had to be the most profane act, because it felt like salvation.
âNnnnh,â Alexander moaned, reaching up for Magnusâ hands blindly and intertwining their fingers.
More or less restrained, Magnus put more power into the movement of his hips. It was an inexplicable desperation that had led them to this, and now it was boiling in his blood and driving him forward.
The pleasure crested, and for one perfect moment, everything felt simpleâthey were just two people who found relief in wanting one another. That was how they had ended up here, after all; a categorically innocuous moment had somehow set Magnusâ skin on fire with how greatly he yearned to touch him, and everything between them had unraveled before he could do anything but follow in its wake.
For weeks the tenacious guardian had been nothing but a thorn in his side, but then all at once, something changed and Magnus could no longer remember how to simply dislike him. Perhaps he put too much stock in his heartâor whatever the son of a Greater Demon was capable of containingâto ever stay free of falling prey to the way of the mortal world. All he knew now, though, was that he felt dread like an ache in his chest at the unavoidable truth that Alexander would leave. Â
âDonât leave,â Magnus whispered breathlessly in Alexanderâs ear. âYou can stay the night. I want you to.â
In reply, Alexander nodded and pressed an almost reticent kiss to his lips. âIâve already crossed the line, whatâs another step?â Even pressed together in such an achingly intimate embrace, there was a hesitance in him. Perhaps he was telling himself this was a big mistake, and he would hate Magnus in the morning.
It wouldnât be the first time, at least, so he would drink away the pain in the evening and be remade again in the morning.
Already in a sloppy state of undress, they both peeled off their remaining layers of clothing and let them fall in a heap on the bedroom floor before crawling beneath the sheets. Magnus had slept alone for so long that his heart twisted in his chest at the feeling of a warm body beside him.
Once Magnus had settled into the mattress and was lying still, Alexander slid his foot between Magnusâ calves and pressed their bodies closer. His hands were more diffident in their movements, slowly tracing a path down Magnusâ forearm and over the bone of his wrist before loosely intertwining their fingers.
He closed his eyes for a moment, just to savor this fragile piece of time, but when he opened them again, it was morning. The deep orange and red of the sunrise bathed the bedroom in a warm glow, and illuminated Alexander where he was perched on the edge of the bed. âAre you going somewhere?â
The muscles in Alexanderâs upper back rippled beneath his alabaster skin as he tensed. âI didnât want to wake you,â was all he said, but for just a moment, his eyes lingered on Magnus as if he were hoping for a rebuttal.
âWe donât have to keep doing this to each other, acting as though weâre so unalike.â
That made him look away, and he stood with his back to Magnus as he adjusted the cuff of his shirt sleeve absently. âYes, we do. We have to be.â
âGod himself created even the avenging angels in his image,â Magnus replied with the hint of a smirk on his lips.
With a wry, all but humorless laugh, Alexander shook his head. âThatâs not the point, Magnus! What kind of guardian allows the ones he looks after to pawn their souls for resolutions?â He turned back to face him with hard resolve.
Magnus couldnât help but be reminded of the volatile, at times impetuous, young man he was. He had been quick to anger, holding himself in contempt for all the things that were out of his control. âAlexanderâthis is her life. Do you truly prefer that she suffer through this mortal existence when that is all she gets?â
âI have failed spectacularly in the past to do the one thing Iâm meant to do, and I wonât let that happen again.â Grabbing his jacket from the floor, he shrugged it on and stalked off.
**
âIâm ready,â Alana declared without preamble.
A smattering of Edomâs red dirt shook loose from the tread of Magnusâ boots as he strode over to her. âI told you that the next time you summoned me you would need to be certain. If this is your decision, then all that is left is your contract.â
âOkay,â she nodded. âLetâs do this.â
Magnus held up his hand and angled it above her chest. âAll this requires is a mark left on your soul, like an earmark. It binds you to me.â With a languid flutter of his fingers, a deep blue energy emitted from them and seeped beneath her skin. The pulsing of her heartbeat was thrummed against his magic and he could feel it as if her heart itself were in the palm of his hand. With a final push, the energy ensnared her soul, wrapping around it like ivy on a vine and pressing in to leave behind an intricate lace of markings.
She shivered faintly and let out a short, sharp exhale. âIt feels like ice.â
âIt should not last long,â he assured her as he pulled his hand back. âNow, taking your memories will be painless; simply stand very still.â
As soon as he began to probe her memories, her eyes clouded over into a haze of milky white. In brief flashes, he could see through her eyes flashes of the past that she had hidden away. He could feel a tangled web of emotions, each vying for pride of place. He could hear a cacophony of her name echoing in millions of different tones and inflections. Each piece pulled at her, nearly tearing her apart from the tension about to snap. Extracting them was like sucking the poison from a wound, leaving a bitter residue behind. It had been left to fester for so long that in places the memories were like rot, but in time, they all came away. âYouâre purely your own now,â Magnus whispered in Alanaâs ear, and with that, he vanished from her side.
For a moment, he just stood in the alleyway behind the warehouse, breathing in the damp, cold air of the rainâs end. A few droplets dotted his face and neck, and he closed his eyes to savor it. In Edom, there was no such relief like a storm.
Suddenly, he felt a presence in the shadows, familiar and passive.
âCome to spy, angel?â
Emerging soundlessly, Alexander stood with his arms folded behind him like a soldier poised in wait.
Quirking an eyebrow, Magnus turned to face him directly. âAre you going to start a street brawl for what she willingly gave me?â
The guardian almost smiled at that, and it put Magnus more at ease. âWhat kind of idiot do you think I am? Actually, donât answer that. I have a feeling I would not like the answer.â Shaking his head, Alexander continued. âI was here when Alana summoned you. But I⌠I decided you were right, Magnus.â
âSorry?â
Despite himself, Alexander chuckled wryly. âI could be cast out for what I have done, but protecting the mortals entrusted to me is worth any price.â
Magnus looked at him skeptically. âForgive me if I am hesitant to accept your truce, Alexander.â
âWho said anything about a truce?â Though his words were antagonistic, his tone was peaceable. âBut I suppose I should thank you for what you taught me.â
Holding up a hand to stop him, Magnus shook his head. âPlease, angel. We are not obliged to such extreme shows of good faith. Besides, Edom would freeze over, and then where would I be?â
Alexander awkwardly shifted closer. âHereâs hoping we remain acquaintances from afar.â
âAs if,â Magnus waved off, pressing in closer until their chests were flush. âYou like me too much.â
âI never said that,â Alexander managed breathlessly before leaning in to join their lips in a kiss that could grow a whole garden from Edomâs barren desert sand.
**
For all of its flaws, Magnus decided that he liked Brooklyn. Edom was his domain, but perhaps this could be his home.
Penthouse One had become more or less a safe haven, oddly enough. The balcony provided the perfect place for his morning meditations, the living room could host a great many guests, and the apothecary was quaint and studious. And perhaps he was indulging in feeling like a mortal at times, but what else was he to do when he was topside so frequently?
The soft click of the door opening made Magnus set down his martini and move towards the entryway curiously. In the hall, he saw a figure cloaked in a long black coat with a hood concealing their face. Boots stained with dirt and dried blood left a faint trail on the wood floor, and the bow over their shoulder was battered with scratches and dings.
âAlexander, youâre home early.â
Shaking his head free from the hood, Alexander revealed his bloodied face. âI gave myself the rest of the night off.â
With a disapproving tsk, Magnus guided his chin away from him to get a better look at the trails of crimson oozing down from his temple and cheekbone. âNo rest for the wicked, hmm?â
Alexander rolled his eyes as he allowed Magnus to steer him to the couch. âI think I may have broken a rib,â grunted as he lowered himself onto a cushion.
âTake your jacket and shirt off so I can see.â Magnus gingerly sat beside him and helped to maneuver his arms from the sleeves. His knuckles faintly brushed Alexanderâs upper back and his whole body tensed in reflex. âIâm sorry,â he whispered, carefully working around the cloth that covered two deep, distinct scars where Alexanderâs wings had been ripped from his back some time ago. They looked much like his fatherâs. As soon as they worked together to peel Alexanderâs t-shirt off, Magnus couldnât help but lean over and brush his lips, faint as a whisper, against the point between his shoulder blades between the dark V-shaped scarring. âNow, let me take a look.â
âHere.â With some difficulty, Alexander rolled slightly to his left side, revealing a blossoming bruise against the side of his rib cage. After just a gentle probing of Magnusâ finger tips against the tender skin, he jerked away. âFuck.â
âWas it worth the fight, Night Arrow?â Magnus asked with a faint smile, unearthing a package of alcohol swabs from the first aid kit they kept hidden beneath the couch for just such an occasion.
âAlways. I have to do something, right?â The bitter edge in voice would likely always be there at the mention of his being cast down. The scars on his back were a reminder he would never need, because Magnus knew he could never forget.
Magnus himself would likely always be haunted by the events of the night Alexander fell from Heaven. The sight of him when he stumbled to Magnusâ door, drenched in sweat and pale as death as he bled through the scraps of fabric he had wrapped himself in still felt too unbearable to recall. Even as a mortal, he still found a way to dedicate himself to the protection of the innocent, and Magnus could never begrudge him that.
âThereâs something else that might help,â he murmured, wincing as he scratched absently at the drying blood on his forehead.
Setting down the swabs, Magnus straightened up to look at him.
âA kiss.â
âA kiss,â Magnus echoed, a grin spreading across his lips. âWhat will you give me for it? Your everlasting soul?â
Alexander dropped his chin and his lips parted just enough to tenderly take Magnusâ finger into his mouth. His tongue was warm and soft, and Magnus felt that all too human feeling of butterflies in his stomach. Releasing him with a quiet pop, Alexander smiled. âThatâs not mine to give anymore. Itâs already yours.â

Rules: Post the last line you wrote and tag as many people as there are words.
I was tagged by the wonderful @poemsfromthealley! TY! đ
*My ability to write has disappeared like a fart in the wind atm, so this is a glimpse of the Malec blind date thatâs in the works! (Has been for 2 years, actually, but itâs getting done by the summer, come hell or high water!)*
About to respond with a pithy comment about his friendâs obvious penis envy, Magnus was distracted by his phone going off in the rather tight pocket of his maroon trousers. Letting go of Cat, he paused to check who was calling, not surprised at seeing Raphaelâs name on the screen.Â
âLet me guess,â Ragnor drily enquired as they waited for him, âthatâs Cupid himself wishing to know your exact coordinates, so that his arrow doesnât go amiss?â Magnus rolled his eyes as he answered the call. âClose. Itâs Raphael.â As Cat sniggered, a near frantic voice could be heard shouting down the phone.
Tagging anyone who hasnât done it yet and would like to! Good luck with your wips, dear writers! đÂ
ladymatt replied to your photoset â@ladymattâ tags: Alec would NEVER EVER cheat on Magnus. What the hell...â
@nancyloummâ It took others to point out heâd have a riot on his hands if he did this - so he didnât even realise it himself! *sigh* Instead, he gave us another break-up! LOL!
OH.at least somebody had their brain working and told him that would be a horrible idea. And he listened, which is the important thing.Â
Yeah, there are other ways of creating drama then having a break up.Â
But it worked out at the end. đđđđđ
@beatperfume replied to your post â<p>In regards to the whole Magnus not apologizing and therefore Alec...â
Waiting Game is by bbk! I only wish I had written it. <3
I literally frowned at this reply because obviously bbk wrote it, I even linked to it in the post, why were you saying this? Somehow I both mentioned and tagged you instead of bbk and didnât even notice? đł
Brains are the worst, thanks for yelling at mine đ
(and this got rather absurdly long... )
@vellesian replied to your post â<p>tbf magnus did apologize in 3x15 :D</p>â
3x15? That he said he was wrong and that Alec can talk to friends? That's so minor I forgot about it :/
oh, is that what nonny meant? I really thought there was a dashed off sorry somewhere in the Lilith mess. I guess now I have to rewatch to figure it out! (Oh no, the hardship.)
@quilleth mentioned you on a post â7kpp Prompt Fill: Breatheâ
@faejilly it really is such a good moment!
ikr? Ah, such a good game.Â
@vellesian replied to your post â<p>Thatâs actually hilarious how Magnus specifically considers...â
I'm cry
Thank you! Sorry? (BothIsGood.gif)
@ladymatt replied to your post â<p>tbf magnus did apologize in 3x15 :D</p>â
I did! It's why I said Magnus doesn't apologise 'enough' in my tags and not 'at all'! But I knew what you were trying to say!
thank you! Glad Iâm at least marginally comprehensible... *laughs*
@lynne-monstr mentioned you on a post âoh crap my family is figuring out there are apps to do video chat...â
yeah I think blaming the wifi is the best way to do this without hurt feelings. (lol I don't do well with video without makeup, even for family)
blame the wifi! always an option
(tho I cannot relate, Iâm fine with being a goblin in the semi-public of a video chat. Itâs amazing how often the whoops forgot to shower today used to line up with my online RPG night, and I still turned on that webcam every week đ¤Ł)
@angelrtsy95 replied to your post â<p>Ok but what are your Smallville opinions?!?!?! Inquiring minds wish...â
Thanks for answering! I really loved some of the plot arcs, but some that I liked just seemed to get dropped? Like, Zatanna could have been such a fun character to bring in more of, but she only had a handful of appearances?
I HAD FORGOTTEN ZATANNA ENTIRELY
so clearly, yeah, there should have been more of her!
(The show didnât seem to ever have a plan, tbqh, and for long-form storytelling, even the relatively stand-alone kind you get in an episodic TV show, is a really glaring flaw.)
@firstaudrina replied to your post âFic Writer Gameâ
YAAAAS I accept the blame!!! I was hoping you'd do this! And WOW you've written so much, I'm so impressed!!
awww, thank you.Â
I have a lot of issues watching other writers continue to post things, and finish things, and get a little hung up on it, so itâs nice to be reminded that I do actually write quite a bit, even if I canât maintain anything like a schedule đ
@silver-latin-and-salt mentioned you on a post â.â
<3 thank u! I'm getting there
AND YOU DID IN FACT GET THEREÂ AND ITâS LOVELY <3

For your consideration: edgy florist is a hardcore variation on the person who hangs out with animals because they canât seem to manage to get along with people. Whatâs even less socially demanding than a dog or cat? A vase full of flowers, is what.
Conversely, a tattoo artist canât make their tattoos in the back of the shop and then present them completed to the customer. They have to spend hours with each customer, working together and making sure it all comes out right. Tattooists have social skills up the wazoo.
