i'm gonna cheat a little with this one because i have a little bit of this one written but for the plans i have for this one it’s a very minimal part believe me. based on this this and this (all three excellent posts of mine go read them), is a story exploring the prospect of the difficulties a relationship between sokka, repressed extraordinaire, and zuko, who wears his heart on his sleeve, could potentially have post-canon. like the miscomunication trope but # done right
basically zuko is head over heels for sokka and ty lee lets it slip in one of hers and sokka’s hang outs. sokka tests the waters for a while and makes a wooing plan that does not work the way he expects because zuko is an impulsive mf. it involves sokka’s obliviousness emotional constipation clashing with his abandonment issues and the fact that he doesn’t talk to people about his feelings ever, while zuko is dealing with sokka actively doing his own thing while not actually making anything clear to him (as we know zuko needs very detailed instructions of stuff or else he'll go off the fucking rails) while dealing with the fact that he’s alone being the boy king of a nation who traumatized him, dealing with his mentally ill sister. it also involves sokka having a one-sided beef with iroh, many travels and many time skips, and maybe some zuko-poetry
