Irritated bc I saw an edit, linked below, of Too Little Too Late by Laufey over tamakyo and now I’m imagining a very visceral tension between the two where Tamaki is quietly waiting over and over for kyoya to stop pushing Haruhi in his direction and kyoya is pretending he doesn’t know
And so when Tamaki is being towed away by Eclair back to France and he sees Haruhi was sent to bring him back he counts that as the final rejection and so he comes back
And he lets his feelings go and kyoya interprets that as Tamaki finally falling into the inevitable
And Tamaki doesn’t make another mommy joke again
And later kyoya regrets it

Tamaki lifts up Kyoya's head to make him look at his face. But Kyoya avoids eye contact. Tamaki sighs and says, "I might not know the answer now, but I will definity get back to you. Just give me some time to figure things out?"
Kyoya's jaw drops. He didn't expect this to happen. He is now looking at Tamaki's eyes, shocked at what he just said. "Are you serious?"
"Yes, of course." Tamaki closes his eyes while he smiles. "I dont play with confessions. Even if its from my bestest friend"

"You always say we're the clubs 'mommy and daddy', so why not make it official?" Kyoya says, as he pins Tamaki to the wall with both hands now.
Tamaki looks Kyoya in the eyes, and senses that he is sincere. He thinks for a moment, thinks about all the memories Kyoya and him have gone through. "Is this a confession?"
"Ugh how stupid are you. Yes, this is a confession you fool. I love you Tamaki. Even though you dont love me." Kyoya says, now avoiding eye contact and lowering his head.
