you know, i thought regal with his scheming in the farseer trilogy was bad. i get really anxious when reading about people with a kind of boundless power who can invade minds and who seem to be able to know your next move inevitably, so he was a really effective villain for me, at least for royass and some of assquest.
now i'm 20% into ship of magic and oh my gods step aside regal because kyle and kennit make my blood boil. name two more horrible, horrifying, annoying, idiotic men. being in kennit's head SUCKS. he's a loser and so slimy i feel like i need a bath. having to be in any room with kyle? the worst experience that could possibly befall you. i wish them both a very i explode you with my mind. oh my gods.

I am halfway through "ship of magic" and I am sure kennit is at some point in the future going to do something stupid but also
well, it seems like he is supposed to be the villain of the story, at least he was introduced as such, and I am very interested in how this will play out.
but also, everyone's story makes you feel something.
althea makes you feel something. her mother, sister and nethew make you feel something. (I am not good with names, I forgot them, sorry)
Kyle makes you feel something. the feeling is hate but he makes you feel something.
and that's actually the thing, bc so far kyle has been more of a villain than kennit.
and kennit is just a mild inconvenience. doesn't wake any feelings. just something to get past.

Currently getting closer to the end of Liveship traders' first volume and – this is not some interesting analysis or review it's just that I need to /vent/? Not at the book but
GODFUCKINGDAMMIT CAN SOMEONE KILL KYLE OR MAKE HIM DISAPPEAR IN ANY WAY?
I literally cannot stand this man. On an individual scale, he is responsible for most of the bad things that have happened so far oh boi they are bad (and the series is definitely not over yet).
On a global scale, the rise in acceptability of slavery is The One Horrible Thing if I need one bad element.
But fuck I much I want to stop reading him be so agressive and violent and he interprets everything as an insult specifically to him and never considers he might be wrong and doesn't care in the slightest for the harm he causes left and right – in fact he doesn't even think of it as harm! I hate him so much! He is everything I hate in people and more specifically in men (because who is usually enabled these fuckass behaviors, in our society or theirs? men).
Anyways that is it.
The rant is not against Liveship traders because so far I love the book, but against specifically Kyle fucking Haven. He makes Kennit seem quite alright in comparison and Gods know I could say a lot about Kennit (in a bad way, I mean).
