I actually made both of these a while ago, but I held off on posting them because A: Procrastination, and B: I wasn’t exactly sick yesterday, but overthinking stuff can lead me to making myself feel sick, so I didn’t feel like posting.
But y’know, it’ll never be off my plate until I do post them, so without further ado, here you go:
“ Whatcha got there, Football-head? “
Now I know that I said I was doing little character drawings for the time being, but I wasn’t patient enough to wait to draw some Shortaki. I’ll still do those character drawings, I just wanted to please myself too.
The present was originally going to be a bouquet of flowers (which would’ve explained Arnold’s blush there), but it’s the holidays, so a present makes more sense. So now, I don’t even know what’s in the box. so your guess is as good as mine. It’s not flowers though.
I didn’t realize until after making this, that this was kind of a missed opportunity. I won’t say what I thought of doing instead in case I do it in the future, but it has something to do with the christmas special.
I know they have different outfits in the Jungle Movie and are also aged up a bit, but it’s been since 2019-2020 since I last saw that movie, as opposed to me watching the whole show in October this year. The show designs are more fresh in my mind, and I admittedly prefer the show outfits as a result.
But admittedly, the second reason I made this is also because I kinda liked drawing Arnold that first time and wanted to draw him more. He’s one of my favorite characters, tied with Helga because I can’t choose between the two. The reasons for them both being my favorites is for entirely different reasons, and I want to explain them both when I draw Helga alone, because I feel like I’ll have a better place to talk about it rather than a holiday drawing.
As far as I know, that’s all I have to say about this drawing, so here’s the second one:
Oh boy . . . How do I explain this.
Basically, I was thinking about how annoyed he’d be if he could actually hear all those times Helga calls his name in the intro. I know it’s out of character, but for the most part I just wanted to draw a joke thing (though the out of character part of it did make it a little jarring to draw, mostly the text).
And if you’re wondering why his eyes look different this time, it’s because I’m still not sure how I should do the eyes are the HA! characters, and was trying something else out. Not sure if I’ll keep it, but expect the eyes to be inconsistent as we go further. At least until I can settle on something that works for me.
