Sunday afternoon, final afternoon before lockdown ends. Its been 105 days ans this a great way to bring it to an end. #Kavalan solist port cask paired with cheddar cheese infused with cracked pepper. The nosing is fruity with zest and an excellent oak you associate with premium bourbon. The fruitiness continues to the palate in the form of plum, citrus which is balanced nicely with toffee notes along with hints of dark chocolate. This #JohnnieWalker A Song of Fire pays homage to #GameofThrones. I'll be honest, drinking it neat doesn't deliver as much joy as it does in a cocktail. Its aspice forward nosing with peppery notes as citrus hovers around the edges. The palate light bodied with spices and a touch of smoke. The finish is very short with a hint of toffee sweetness. I am thinking this in an #OldFashioned will do the trick. The bitters should give this #whisky some punch.
