I'm 90% sure that the ""African"" outfit they show him in is just a stereotype and not based on any actual African culture, so I wanted to draw him in traditional clothing. Originally I was gonna make him South African-Zimbabwean like my grandpa, but I read on his fandom page that "Kwame" is an Akan name, so I drew him in traditional Akan clothing!

He's wearing a ntoma with kente fabric and leather sandals (except I don't like drawing feet so they're not detailed at all).

I only used colours I saw in traditional Kente fabrics, and I drew similar patterns to what I saw as well.

Je lui expliquai en rigolant qu’il s’agissait certainement de Kwame, mon avatar.
