I'm going to take this opportunity to gush about another of my favorite ships. Some fans find it problematic, others find it baffling, and others downright hate it, but to me is kinda of a guilty pleasure that I enjoy far too much to be concerned about fandom's opinion of it.

Although Korvira my numero uno in my shipping hierarchy, there's something about Kuvirasami that has got a hold on me that isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I've always theorized that Kuvira's outcome would've been significantly different for the better had Asami been the one assisting Kuvira in the whole stabilizing the Earth Kingdom enterprise instead of the notoriously morally dubious Varrick. I believe Kuvira would've fared better with someone like Asami who would stand her ground and could keep her on the straight and narrow, keeping Kuvira's darker impulses at bay and giving us a more ethical personification of the military industrial complex if you will (lol). Jokes aside, there's genuine power couple potential here and the things they could accomplish if they combined their talents and charisma (prodigy metalbender meets genius inventor) and it sure doesn't hurt they're both easy on the eyes. The revelation in Ruins of the Empire that Kuvira is aware of Asami's work (using the word awesome to compliment her inventions no less) wasn't lost to me at all, and my shipper self wondered if Kuvira might have a thing for attractive, talented engineers. 🤔😉

I would love to see a world where Asami was helping Kuvira with the war effort. What an interesting thought experiment! Though my twisted mind makes it an Asami corruption arc...

Few of mine would be:

Like Korrasami, Kuvira would be the tense nervous dork when teased by Asami

Asami would ogle at Kuvira if she were helping fix gadgets or vehicles using metal bending

Kuvira always getting chances to give playful spanks to Asami's shapely buttocks, nicknaming her "Ass-Sami" occasionally

YES i agreee especially the second one, in my thoughts i always think kuvira and asami would work very well with each other because kuvira is a very capable metalbender with extreme high precisions and asami is an inventor! Together they could create anything. In my scenarios that when they are together, they would spend a lot of times in office and workshops together welding and just tinkering away with asami's projects.

I also think asami is a very caring dom, and she likes to take things on her pace, and kuvira would be happy to trust someone to take the wheel entirely and unwind by going absolutely lax in asami's hand. Oh and I also think asami is a creative person and likes trying new things, like toy or a complicate position or scenarios, and kuvira luckily is a very resilient and flexible person to try whatever asami offers.

I also like the headcanon that beifong women like toph and suyin and kuvira like nerds. So when asami was older she opt to wear glasses and that would definitely turn wheels inside kuvira's head to see her wife wearing glasses hunching over a table with papers pens and nails scattered and her deft fingers making quick works on machinery projects. They definitely have a lot of desk sex because kuvira will starts loitering around asami whenever she works with glasses on, and starts finding subtle ways to get asami's attention on her, like a cat.

Oh and while they didnt have any pet in canon, only korra had naga, which in modern au i think wouldve been a samoyed dog, and korra herself seems like a dog person as she enjoy taking care of a big energetic animal that would run miles with her. For asami i think she would keep birds, small kind that eat nut and insect like starlings, the starling intricate and pretty patterns seems like something asami would love, and theyre less high maintenance which would allowed her more time for her works. She wouldve designed her birds big pretty enclosures that fits into the aesthetic of her mansion. Kuvira tho I figure she is the kind that would keep more unconventional pets like ectotherms animals, like lizard or snakes, but she would have to keep her enclosure far far away from asami's birds. She maybe would keep a rainbow boa, very sleek and shiny just like her aesthetic but they are high maintenance, which if she werent let off on house arrest yet she wouldve had plenty of time to tend to them. I think out of the two, asami have a much more tight work schedule than kuvira.
