Kushite Work Elephant
I wanted to redo an old artwork of mine from 2020 that depicted workmen in ancient Kush using a tame elephant to carry logs. It's admittedly a speculative scene, as while we do have archaeological evidence at the site of Musawwarat es-Sufra for the Kushites possibly using elephants in warfare and ceremonies, we don't know if they used them for labor. Anyway, what I wanted to see is whether I've improved as an artist in the six years that have passed since I did the original artwork.

Henttawy Headshot
This is a close-up portrait of my Kushite original character Henttawy, who is from my in-progress novella “Oasis of Death”. This time, I referenced her facial features from the model Adut Akech Bior.
"Oasis of Death" Cover Illustration (Text-free Version)
This is an illustration I made for my current novella-in-progress, a historical adventure about an expedition from the ancient civilization of Kush venturing to an "Oasis of Death" in order to capture one of its resident "dragons" for the royal menagerie. My plan is to use this artwork for the book's cover once I have it all written and ready for publication, but I haven't decided on what would be a good font or typeface for the title.
Kushite Professor
This acrylic painting shows a scholar from ancient Kush reading a papyrus manuscript. I think he works as a sort of professor at the Per-Ankh (“House of Life”), which would be the ancient Nile Valley equivalent of a university.

Kushite Soldier Standing Guard
I did this illustration of an ancient Kushite soldier standing guard as a response to a work by another artist, a Spanish gentleman named Joan Francesc Oliveras. Although I like the majority of his historical depictions, I always felt his rendition of a Kushite warrior (while still cool-looking) was too tribal-looking to represent what was in actuality a sophisticated civilization with cultural as well as commercial ties to its downriver neighbor Egypt. Therefore, I wanted to do my own interpretation of the same subject matter that I felt was more historically accurate.

Prince Taharqa versus Assyrian
My Kushite warrior prince Taharqa is now fighting an Assyrian soldier out in the Palestinian desert around 701 BC. Inspired by some verses in the Bible describing him leading a force against the Assyrians in the region during the reign of King Hezekiah of Judah.
Prince Taharqa Wields His Sword
This is Taharqa, the famous Kushite ruler, as a young warrior prince wielding an iron sword in battle. Basically I wanted to practice a sword-swinging pose with this artwork.
