You leap for the fire escape structure. You're so cool. you're going to make it. Oh my fucking maker you missed. You missed and you're going to die. That's so embarassing.

As you tumble through the lower atmosphere you catch blurred glimpses of a speeder, growing rapidly larger in your vision. Sooner than you expected, you collide with the domed cockpit, tits-first. Senator Amb-Ehn-Orre's chauffer droid makes startled eye contact with you for the smallest fraction of a moment before you ricochet off into the traffic control bouy and crack the rest of your ribs. It doesn't hurt as much as it knocks the air out of you, and you wonder in a tiny portion of your brain that isn't screaming if that's because you're still high as shit.

Down and down you plummet, arse-over-teakettle - eyes streaming, deafened by the rushing wind, you begin to feel the euphoria of flight depite the inevitable fatal end. It's like jetpack-training on Kamino, the first time you felt the power of a controlled plasma burn overcome gravity, coming unstuck from the planet.

Oh, you remember how to stop the spinning. You spead your arms and legs wide, stabilising....and you're flying. Plummeting still, but your mind takes a kinder avenue. You're like an eagle.. or, you're a kamino Gull, a creature that lives in the slipstream! You would laugh if you could catch a breath, but the atmosphere is sucked away from you before you can take a sip of air. You could die in a million worse ways, you decide. Could have been a gut-shot. Could have been spaced, like Wolffe's people and fuck would that be awful.

Blinded by your streaming eyes, you don't know how close the ground is but surely not much furth-- you collide with something billowing and springy and you're spinning again for a brief second, equilibrium totally lost. are you going up?? Down?? the solid ground hits you hard and hits you again when you bounce Oh you're dead. you're so so dead.

You are still, and numb, and shocked. and you're....not dead.

There are people running over to you but you can only see their ankles. And hooves. And whatever. If you don't move maybe nothing will hurt? It kind of smells like....kaf and hot toast.
