As a romance is so ambiguous, they fell for each other because the other was a mirror of their ideals, or is hinted that kunikida was so alike to the azure king, she felt for his strongs principles and by who he was at some point more than who he seemed to be but for kunikida was love in a way, fleeting and demolishing that kept torturing him to the very day to keep her memory alive, he went to her with an open heart and that's what cemented it, he was eager to be open to her and she shared his feelings, spoke her mind to him, they had that intimacy that deep down came from different places even so alike that's tragic and beautiful
