Lying in bed, Nika's curled into her girlfriend's side, her legs strewn over Kate's body and her head tucked into the crook of the blonde's neck while they scroll through their phones. Across the room, Paige and Azzi sit on the parallel couch, in equal positions.

Nika: i have a prank for kate
Nika: can u help
Azzi: yes, wait, i'm so excited
Nika: ask them if they want food and then start recording
"Food soon?" Azzi asks absentmindedly, not even looking up from her phone. The reactions are predictable, of course.
Immediately, Paige and Kate look up from their phones, excitement on their faces.
"I'll get it if you guys order," Paige nods.
Plucking Nika's legs off her, Kate stands up, stretching. "Oh my god, yes, I'm starving."
Nika just shrugs, unlocking her phone again as Kate heads to the bathroom. But as soon as she's out of sight, glances are shared between her and Azzi.
The brunette's phone is out and secretly recording.
When Kate gets back, it's Nika's turn to stand up. "I think I'm gonna head out, guys."
"Well, cancel the food for us. I guess we're leaving." Shaking her head in disappointment, Kate turns right back around, heading back through the hallway to the front door. "You can stay here if you want, though! The key's under the mat outside!"
"No, you can stay. I actually wanted to go back alone."
Kate stops, turning to face her girlfriend, her eyebrows laced in confusion. "You're not sleeping over?"
"No, I feel like alone time would suit us right now, we've been together for so long."
"Are we fighting, and I like, just don't know or something?" The blonde raises her eyebrows now, and somehow, Paige and Azzi manage to stay silent on the couch.
Nika shakes her head, trying her best to remain stoic. "No, we just need that space sometimes."
"Is this a breakup?"
Nika cracks, her face exploding with a smile. "No, it's just a joke." With her arms open, Nika pulls Kate into her, her arms wrapped around her neck, whispering. "Don't worry, you'll get all the snuggles tonight."

My new friend Knishu has been taking me foraging for Sklal, a large, layered, mushroom that reminds me of an artichoke.
Sklal are absolutely decadent! They’re Usually roasted whole or shredded into a pasta. They’re a bit sinewy and the strong umami is typically balanced with citrus or possibly tomato. It’s a bit like a vegan version of pork. Once again I see why they serve Uktu with everything.
Knishu is a native and the youngest in a long line of herbalists. She said that when the Sklal are ready to reproduce they grow a secondary fruit body , too bitter to eat. We didn’t see any of those but she said it’s easy to spot.
