Quick lists of "Alternative" software/websites I use:
Firefox (as an alternative to Chrome): Especially for the ad blocking capability. Use on both Phone and Computer.
DuckDuckGo (as an alternative to Google): No longer the thing your paranoid uncle uses, now an actually good search engine with the lack of tracking being a plus.
Kubuntu (as an alternative to Windows 11): My current Linux Distro and the best for people leaving Windows for Linux for the first time. Also KDE is Goated now.
LibreOffice (as an alternative to Microsoft Office): Works with MS-office formats and is FOSS, great if you don't trust google but need office software.
GIMP (as an alternative to Photoshop) because fuck Adobe.
Kdenlive (as an alternative to Premiere) because again, fuck Adobe.
OpenStreetMaps (as an alternative to Google maps): Tends to update quicker and is more detailed because everything is done by volunteers on the ground.

so i've been fucking around in kubuntu, making it how I want it. I went to go look for a wallpaper of Konqui (which is KDE's mascot), and tell me why I found this website.
That is the offcial KDE website with info on the silly lil' guy. but tell me when I get to the bottom-
this implies, in a technicality, every KDE user has their own dragon that they could probably make. How interesting.
this also means every KDE user has had or currently has a dragon-sona (or really just fursona but as long as you get my point) hope you didn't mind "this".
think for my next computer im gonna run kubuntu instead of debian w/ kde.

Hey, I need help!!!
First off, I have everything backed up.
I'm trying to install Kubuntu 24.04 on my desktop and whenever I try to boot from USB, it keeps getting stuck on a Black Screen. I can't install the OS. I tried changing the quiet splash in grub, tried Linux Mint 22.2, and tried redownloading the Kubuntu iso and burning to the USB drive, but still cannot proceed pass the black screen to install the OS.
I had to do a hard shut down just to start over, which will damage my system if I do too much.
My computer has a Nvidia graphics card, 16gb ram, and I processor.
Any help appreciated.
