One of the children I work with is mostly nonverbal and doesn’t always comprehend what is being said to him, but he has an obsession with KTLA 5 news. So on his break time he’ll go on his iPad and watch whatever that news channel has posted on YouTube. However there are specific phrases and noises that are especially stimulating to him, so he’ll just watch 15-20 seconds and rewind on repeat. Yesterday it was “shock and sadness tonight as two time Oscar winning actor Gene Hackman has died” on repeat while he jumps up and down and does happy hand flaps.
