Apologies for not updating fics lately. My life is currently in chaos as we are potentially and unexpectedly moving again. 🙃
On top of that I am dealing with health related issues that are very taxing.
This all in total are causing horrid writers block. I am hoping that as thing start to settle and I start figuring out things ny writing bug will come back.
I miss writiing so much, and usually I can get through things. Fingers crossed within the next few weeks stuff gets better.

Wondering if you didn't get the numbers I sent you for the artist ask the first time? So sending again IIRC like 3, 6, 8, 12? No pressure though!
Thanks for the asks, Anng! I did receive the first portion, it just took me a bit to get my answers together! No worries!

3) Your favorite piece(s) ?
I still have a soft spot for these pieces in particular:
Harr and Maddie Dancing I like because the pose is really cute, not to mention it heavily features my favorite color, lol. I believe the outfits were based on one of Harr's birthday outfit sets and thought it would be a cute idea to have them dancing in their new clothes at the Lake of Tears.
Vincent and Abby's Magic AU, I followed a tutorial from Paul Clark, a watercolor painting instructor on Youtube that specializes in landscape and countryside paintings (he does other things with watercolors, but he does a lot of nature scenes and older buildings in England in particular). The tutorial that I followed for this piece was for a forest path with some perspective practice. I did the forest parts per Paul's instructions, then added in Vincent and Abby as they were walking the path. The greens might be a little bright (as the greens in my watercolor set are pretty saturated), but this turned out so pretty, even moreso in real life.
Of the Love and Deepspace sketch portraits I did, I liked this one of Rafayel the best of the bunch. The colors are bright and vibrant, Raf's smile, the texture in his hair and on his cardigan, there's a lot to like in this!
And these because I think they're funny still. Ya girl loves a good meme once in a while:
OCs! OCs doing stuff! OCs interacting with canon characters! OCs interacting with other OCs! Drawing other people's OCs! You can't go far on my art blog without stumbling over something OC related or adjacent.
I mentioned in the tags for this piece that I have only have so much patience for tiny details and that I simplified a lot on both their outfits from the original designs. This is due mostly to the fact that my inking skills aren't… great. Below is the inked version of the art in its glory. The lining looks… okay. Could use some more line weight variation and maybe a little more practice in making straight lines, but color definitely helps a lot in disguising my mistakes.
Even digitally, I still feel like a newb when it comes to doing lineart, even after as long as I've been doing art.
First pass of digital inking for this piece I did for the Tier List Tropes event last month with the sketch layer hidden. Scratchy-ness, very little line weight variance, and where there is heavy detail, it's scratchy, hesitant, and sometimes a lil wobbly. It's a skill that needs to develop over time, I know, but, for me, it still feels like one of those skills I can kinda pick up on, but not completely. Color does a lot of heavy lifting for me some days.
All the above being said, I do find myself unconsciously trying to push myself sometimes when comes to adding detail despite being not that great with my lining.
I remember this one's wip fondly as I was still experimenting with the 'start with big soft brush and work in details as you move along' method. It was for Lucifer's birthday this year and, while I probably could have gone with a simple portrait like I've done with other favorites in the past, but something in me wanted to do more. It was done in one day too! Spending the whole day thinking of little design choices I wanted to add, like how there are a few things that number up to 8 in count (the candles on the table, the leaves on the house plant near the fireplace, not shown in the final artwork but there were also 8 ceiling lights at the top of the windows); the pink and blue chess pieces; pink and white flowers on the table (the original room has the flowers only in white but Miri is a pink-loving girlie, she gets pink flowers!) and probably the small detail that almost didn't happen, Lucifer holding Miri's hand.
Here's a portion of the timelapse of the thing (bc the whole program crashed bc I recorded a lil too long in the coloring processes, so that's lost to the four winds now), but it probably has the most important part, which is the changing of Lucifer's hands.
20) Is your workspace, digital or not, organized (not neat, organized)?
Technically, yes. I have plastic drawers that house my various supplies. There's one for the copics and a separate one for my misc alcohol markers, one for prismacolor pencils and one for other misc colored pencils like crayolas and such. There's one that's got graphite pencils that are separated by if they're wooden or mechanical, pens sorted by drawing pens and writing pens, one for watercolor tins and acrylic paint, and a whole drawer dedicated to just sharpies (separated by cool verses warm colors, plus grays and blacks). I also have cubby shelves that has two cubbies dedicated to paper and sketchbooks (one for the thicker, nicer papers I have like the watercolor pads, another for thinner stuff like drawing paper).
For digital, I've shown my naming conventions before, but overall, I'm pretty basic for organizing my folders, just giving them a date and keeping them inside that year's folder. This is what my file folders look like, showcasing June's here as July's folder currently has… spoilers… for what's coming in August :)
Thanks for the tag, @qaanngi! This was a lot of fun to do!
Tagging the writer moots gently, if you feel so inclined to do this as well: @natimiles @william-rex @keithtopia @kissmetwicekissmedeadly @scummy-writes @rjthirsty @lorei-writes and anyone else that sees this and wants to play along, consider yourself tagged by me!
Which story would you love to finish in the upcoming year?
Maybe not completely finish (though that would be nice), but I would like to add another chapter or two to Second Glance.
Is there a new story idea you'd like to start exploring?
Over on my Writing Summary for 2025, I made mention in the unfinished fic section about making an AU about Love and Deepspace where the MC/my insert/an OC/whatever becomes of that, has dreams of their past lives and turns the stories into novels and that is an idea I'd like to develop in the future.
And thanks to the new Obey Me app, it has given me thoughts of how my OC Miri would adjust to a married life as well, especially with how Lucifer's initial chapter went, so I have some thoughts how that would play out with Miri in MC's stead.
Which character do you want to spend more time with or develop further?
All of them. Impossible to put into action, but it is what I want. Put a character in front of me and I'll see what I can do to develop them further. I can make them worse, I guarantee it.
What world or setting would you like to return to or build from scratch?
Two worlds come to mind when I think of that question and that's IkeRev's world and Obey Me's lore. Both have a lot of good ideas but the potential is squandered to keep their 'family-friendly' ratings and little cohesion to the narrative. IkeRev with themes of the horrors of war and assimilation while Obey Me has literal demons, they could stand to be a little darker than what was given to us. I've seen peeps do some amazing things with lore from both properties and, idk, I think I wanna add my own spin on things if given the chance.
Are there any genres you've been wanting to experiment with?
Action and Adventure always seems to be something fun to explore, go on a hero's journey and whatnot. I have been getting more into the mystery genre thanks to getting back into youtube playthroughs, but that seems like a complicated genre, especially if you're not that great with follow-through. Fantasy I've dipped my toes into thanks to all the romance games I play, so there is some experience in there, but I think playing around with Folklore could be fun as well.
Are there any tropes you've been wanting to experiment with?
Arranged Marriages seem like something that would be up my alley. And since I'm also a fan of Second Chance romances, why not play around with Lovers to Enemies and back again?
What aspect of your writing craft would you like to improve most next year (dialogue, pacing, structure, etc.)?
Environmental and physical descriptions. I've relied too long on fanfic and the reader knowing what the characters and the setting looks like and I think that is a detriment to my OC writing.
Which writing habit or routine would you like to strengthen?
I would like to get into the habit of writing more regularly. I also draw on an irregular basis and I would like make that more regulated as well. Maybe start with something small like one sentence per day could be doable rather than what I usually do, which is about 2k in a day and not do anything for a while.
Is there a writing challenge or competition you'd like to enter?
Fictober is what I usually enter every year and that's usually enough writing for me as I'm writing from a prompt list the entire month of October. I never finish all 30-ish prompts because busy and tired™, but even getting at least 1 done is an accomplishment.
What's one milestone you'd love to reach (word count, publication, finishing a draft, etc.)?
I would like to finish a few drafts I've started over the years. I've actually set that challenge for myself as my New Years Resolution, to finish at least 5 drafts by the end of the year. If I can do more, even better.
What writing goal would make you feel proud to accomplish by the end of the year?
Finish at least 5 fics minimum before the year ends. Doesn't matter which ones, so long as they get done. They can be small ones, just so long as they get done.
How will you celebrate your writing progress throughout the year?
I keep a spreadsheet that helps to keep track of my WC for that year and that final amount number going up is always a joy.
Who or what inspires your writing the most right now?
Things happening while I'm playing games. I made mention of the new Obey Me app inspiring me to continue working with my OC Miri and things like that are what's been inspiring me lately.
How do you plan to keep your creativity fueled and your motivation high?
Setting small, achievable goals. To never be hard on myself if I don't live up to my expectations. And the promise of peanut butter M & Ms usually keeps my motivation high.
What's one piece of advice you want to remind yourself of when the writing gets tough?
You're creating something from nothing or from very little and that's amazing.
How do you plan to share more of your writing next year (with readers, workshops, online)?
Probably the ways I usually share it, via Discord and tumblr. I would like to post on ao3 more often this year than I did last year.
What kind of feedback or connection are you hoping to find in your writing community?
Any kind, really? I know well that it is a two-way street if I want to find meaningful connections, I need to be the one reaching out if it's something that I really want, but some days that can be hard. Opening yourself up is hard in general, but there needs to be some vulnerability and a willingness to reach out and start communicating with your community if you want to try and build something meaningful to you. At this point, any connection I get is a blessing because of my sporadic posting schedule and the subject matter I chose to explore. I write SFW OCs inspired fanfic most of the time, so I usually don't reach a lot of people because of that, but the ones that decided to stick around in spite of that, thanks for that. It really does mean a lot to me.
Is there a collaboration you'd like to pursue with another writer or artist?
Not really. Too busy with rl stuff to spend on collaborations, as much as I would like to. I sometimes commission friends to do art for some of my fics, but that doesn't really count since I'm paying them to make art? So that kinda defeats the purpose?
What kind of advice would you like to give other writers for the next year?
Set attainable goals, even it's something super tiny you can fit into your schedule, like one sentence a day. Sentences can be one word, just as a reminder (expletives are my favorite kind of one word sentences.) And you are much more talented, smarter, funnier, braver, and much more gorgeous than generative AI can ever hope to be. Be proud of that fact.
I'm really intrigued, why was Miriam crying because of Solomon? Did he do something to her?
Hi nonny!
The short answer (I'll get to the long answer below the cut as it goes to spoilers for OG Obey Me's season 2) is that it's an accumulation of things that have happened up to this point and Solomon is urging her to do something she is very much not keen on doing, thus being the tipping point of making her cry.
For the long answer, let me preface this that this isn't quite how it happened in canon. MC, for the most part, seems not too influenced by the events happening around them. I'm sure it's for the sake of keeping the MC as a blank slate so that it's easier for the player to insert themselves, but I guess I wanted MC to be more affected by the events leading up this moment, thus why I'm making Miri more affected by what had originally happened in canon. Solomon is also a little more amicable upon rereading the lessons this scene draws upon in canon than what I make of him here. He does care when MC is upset with him and willing to make them less upset if he can (he's a silly little wizard that really likes us at the end of the day) but he never got the chance because Lucifer steps in, sensing a disturbance in the force.
With that in mind, I'll be going into a summarized version of Miri's journey through OG season 2. Sorry that this does get long, but this is probably my favorite season for Obey Me and I have a lot of feelings and thoughts pertaining to it.
-------
When the season begins, MC is having disturbing dreams where they're holding an ornate dagger, with Solomon behind them, telling them to stab the person in front of them. No specific faces were mentioned but they usually wake up before the stabbening happens, usually in a cold sweat. This remains true for Miri as well, having disturbing dreams with the ornate dagger ever since she returned to the Human Realm after the end of the first season.
After finishing up a call from Mammon, Solomon texts her to catch up and all that kind of niceties. She begins to text him about her recent dreams, but he suddenly appears behind her (because magic man gonna magic), startling the living daylights out of her. He then proceeds to take her back to Devildom unceremoniously (she lands on top of Satan during a student council meeting, lol).
Solomon had brought her back because he (and Diavolo) had sensed a change going on and it seemed to be centered around Miri and her pacts. They want to keep an eye on her, something they don't tell her or the brothers about, since they know protective the bros are of Miri, especially Lucifer, and they didn't want to say anything in case it turned out they were worrying for nothing.
Except… yeah, there was a reason to be worried.
Unbeknownst to MC, there were increasing disasters that were occurring in all three of the major realms. Ancient lakes drying up, millenniums old tombs collapsing, large holes appearing the forest, and other strange phenomenon were occurring. All of it seemed to be connected as it started after MC had finished getting all their pacts. Solomon and Diavolo decided to test MC (without their knowledge) to see if they actually were connected with these disasters via exam season at RAD. This is also the same for Miri, save for a difference where I'm diverting from the game's MC.
See, since I like a little drama once in a while, I made it so Miri is affected by her rapidly growing powers (since that is what's happening). It manifests itself in little ways as the season progresses, mainly in a way similar to an illness. She's fatigued more often, gets periodic fevers and chills, more irritable, has dizzy spells, headaches, and various other little ways that on their own might not be so worrying, but the fact that they don't go away after the exam ends would be a tip off that something isn't right with our little human. She tries to wave it off because it's exam season. It's normal for humans to push themselves a little harder when faced with exams, she'll be fine once it's over! No need to worry at all!
What clued Miri in that something was seriously wrong was when her pacts went off without her meaning to. There had been a travelling carnival in town and the gang took the opportunity to have a little bit of fun during exams, relax and all that. Beel was having a food tantrum at one of the carnival restaurants. The brothers, being the brothers, don't act maturely either when they try to stop Beel (all of them were being brats and having a food fight). Miri, having a bad headache, yells at the brothers to shut up for one minute, please! Next moment, her pact marks start glowing and all the brothers present at the restaurant hit the floor. Hard.
Miri's, understandably, horrified, having taken down six powerful demons at once (one of them being Lucifer) without meaning to. She's quiet and sullen the entire trip home. Lucifer keeps an eye on her as he's putting together that something is going on with the little human, but he isn't sure what. He tries to talk to Barbatos about it and about Diavolo's recent behavior (because, again, he's keeping what he knows secret until he's sure something is going on with Miri and the various realm disasters), but Barbatos is vague about it too, not letting on that he does know something is going on, but he absolutely does know something and is being cryptic about it.
After that, Miri's magic illness gets worse, culminating in causing amnesia in Lucifer. After an adventure to the Reaper's Cave to save Beel, (Miri helped to save the Avatar of Gluttony by a miracle that none of the other brothers could do before her by pouring a drop of her life candle into Beel's and it fixed his candle; it's a whole thing, I can get into it at a later date). Once they return to the House of Lamentation, Lucifer collapses and wakes up with amnesia which, yeah, really super worries everyone. Diavolo and Solomon decide to come clean at this point, about Miri's growing magical powers and how it's basically destroying the three realms.
To fix her unstable powers problem, there's two options: Find a way to suppress Miri's power or get rid of it all together. To suppress her powers, she would need the Ring of Light, a ring that used to belong to Lucifer when he was an angel, but it had been lost since his Fall in the Great Celestial War (allegedly), so that option was out.
The second way was to sever the pacts she had made with the seven brothers with a special magical knife, the Night Dagger. Miri wasn't excited about this plan as the brothers were her brothers. She wouldn't be able to see them again if she severed their connection, never able to reforge those pacts again. Solomon gives her some time to think about it and look after Lucifer for a bit.
Now, we're getting to why Miri is crying in the above picture.
Solomon comes back with the Night Dagger (he nicked it during the Reaper Cave adventure) and explains that it's ancient artifact that had lost its power over the ages. In order for it to be powerful enough to sever her pacts, it needed to kill a demon (since it was originally known as a demon killer). For bonds as powerful as Miri's, the demon killed needed to be at least at Lucifer's caliber, if not Lucifer himself.
This is what greatly upsets Miri. On top of not feeling good for an extended amount of time, not only was she supposed to break the bonds she had with the brothers, which, dude, that's her family!! She has to kill the one she loves the most to have enough power to separate her from her family and save the three realms.
Needless to say, Miri isn't happy about any of this. Her nightmare was coming true.
She tries arguing with Solomon, pleading with him to find another way, *any other way*, but Solomon's already exhausted all the resources he could before coming to this decision. He tries to apologize, but this is for the best, in the end.
And, now Miri is crying, overwhelmed and upset. Lucifer intervenes when he can sense Miri's distressed. Despite the amnesia, he still feels this close bond to her and urge to protect her even if he doesn't remember specifically why. He puts himself between the two humans and tells Solomon to get out of his house. Solomon tries to argue with Lucifer, but he's not having it. Either Solomon has to leave on his own willingly, or he's gonna be leaving the hard way.
And that answers why Miri is crying because of Solomon. He's just the shit icing on top of an already shitty shit cake. Her reasons to cry also don't stop here (as the bottom of the original pic has her crying (harder) with Simeon) but that can be a different ask for another time. I did make a WIP Wednesday of the entire scene (Solomon urging her to sever her pacts, Lucifer's interference, and Simeon solving everything (kinda)) if that would be of your interest, nonny! It is a little choppy as it had originally started as an attempt to take notes for my reference but then the notes took off on their own and started weaving the notions of a future fic together.
There are times that I wanna make timelines for my OCs and while it is doable for most of them, I remember how big Miri's is in Obsidian and my hand stays

Since Emma has asked about favorite clemmings moments I thought I’d share one of mine
During an interview a few years ago they were answering fan questions and Calum reads out the question “If you had to marry one of band members who would you marry?” Without hesitation Michael responds I’d marry Luke and then stares straight into the camera.
here are gifs of the moment i just made and of course you can watch the video here if you haven’t seen this iconic clemmings moment.
YO its fhcking wild getting drunk w friends after breakinf up with an ex and all and they lay down all the ways your ex was toxic to them that you didnt realize and now you just feel bad you didnt realize jt sooner and should have stopped it
but also like its not my responsibility to reel in a boyfriends behavior like NO they were a shitty person and it took me too long to realize it so is it my fault or not????? i dont know!!!!!!!!
stop placing this obligation on girls to monitor boys’ behavior!! its tiring and guilt trippy for no good reason
