Man, fuck these dogs.
The first arc: A Summary
I find this quest extremely interesting, the side quest where you gather ingredients for an hourglass to give to Reed Treever. It just has so many implications and raises so many questions!
it's so fascinating the way the Marleybonians think about the things from other worlds and that, they know just how special these things are. Yet they just take. Do they know how truly special these things are? Not just to their ends, but to those who live here? How connected the bones are to the tombs? How restless spirits become when they aren't properly buried? Do they know what those sands of time do?, the time ribbon Ako makes for you with Ice Weaver silk to protect you from becoming lost in the sands? Do they know what happens when they are reversed?
Do the Marleybonians know how sacred these things are?
Do they even care?
They didn't even think to ask for anything we took. Not the high quality sand we used to make glass, not even the sand of time from the royal hall. We did not get permission to take; there was no thanks for the blessing either. Do they honor these materials they depend on?
It's incredible what the Marleybonians do know of Magic and how much they respect it. There are esoteric branches in the S.G.S. We have sparklock guns; yet Hawkins appears to have a hate for magic and Edith at the very least sees it as lesser: a jump off point for SCIENCE.
It's incredible how subtly Kingsisle created a naturalistic presentation of a society that sees itself as dominant, and all they did was make the theft mundane. Everything about the power structure and what is normal reveals itself when you peel back the layers of what are considered "small favors" and "punishable crimes." What's ok stealing and what isn't ok stealing! The Sands of Time are a-ok for stealing, but not Abigail Doolittle's genuine fake golden ruby! No no, that's worth putting an innocent Wade in jail over. Yet, no consequences for the Wizard who stole the Sands of Time...
Someone said before that Wizard101 introduces concepts to you in a matter-of-fact, "oh that's just happening" kind of way as if every strange occurrence is just normal.
More Wizard101 fanart cause I’m lame and corny
I wanted to draw Ako after doing his quest but then I realized he looks like every basic Mander
I only got to like level 20 as a kid so I’m trying to actually be serious and progress so yeah just finished Krokotopia
