Kra
Anyone have any idea what was up with all the "Kra" names in 2004? Like seriously, all the Toa Mata's names get remixed with Kra at the beginning, is that supposed to mean something?
Like seriously
Tahu > Kraahu
Gali > Kralhi
Pohatu > Kraatu
Kopaka > Krahka
Lewa > Kraawa
Onua > Kranua
What is happening here. Both Toa Metru combiners, both Vahki combiners, a dinky little polybag set I'm not sure was actually released, and the 6-Toa combiner model Rahi all share this bizarre pattern. Is this supposed to mean something? It feels important, but it's not like anything comes of this, as far as I know. And like okay, some of these are kind of a stretch, but it's weird this pattern can be made at all, right? And even without it, that's still a lot of Kra names! But why?
And it doesn't even stop there, because look what happened in 2005!
Takua > Krakua
(Honestly I'm mostly just confused about why I didn't notice this earlier)
That passage in Challenge Of The Hordika, featuring Krahka's sacrifice, always gets to me a little. We also saw her become a combined form of the Toa Metru in The Darkness Below, but that was explicitly a more monstrous form with a dozen arms and a funky unicorn horned head, if the combo model at the back of the book is anything to go by....
Whereas the one in CotH is implied to be more directly Toa-like, a standard Metru build, in contrast to the mutated half-rahi shape the Toa Hordika were presently trapped in. But also still combining features of all of the Toa Metru in one form.
Which, it's occurred to me a few times, is a bit odd when they were clone sets, basically the same aside from some slight proportion adjustments here, and their masks, tools, and color schemes being different.
Soooo what to do about that?
Well, taking some further liberties with the Metru designs does help give a bit more to work with, so I'm basing this off of my headcanon versions of the Metru where they have more proportional variance in keeping with their Turaga forms, secondary metallic colors like the miramax movies, and tertiary colors that match their eye colors.
And here goes:
Torso: Nokama (particularly feminine Miramax version)
Legs: Onewa (Looong legs for a longer stride in the moment of running at the Zivon)
Arms: Nokama (again, for better reach)
Mask: Onewa (not an actual Komau, but given her fondness for stealing his face in particular...)
Feet: Nuju (slightly less oversized Crystal Spike snowshoes, both because of the combo model, and for better traction in her run)
Wings: Matau (obvs, he's the only one with wings and she'd want wings)
Tools: Whenua (her combo model's use of the earthshock drills as a big claw is iconic, suits her burrowing habits, and could also help toppling the Zivon when her momentum and weight alone would fail)
Eye Color: Nuju (since the combo model had her with light blue eyes)
Primary Color: Matau (Metru Blue was most prominent on the combo model, but using a third trait from Nokama would be too much; Metru Green is the next-closest thing and was also reasonably prominent besides)
Secondary Metallic Color: Vakama (copper is admittedly a departure from the combo model's avoidance of warm colors, but I think would both give her some visual flair, the metallic colors weren't really apparent in the Metru sets anyways, and it would bring her a bit more resemblance to Onewa's metallic tan while still being distinct)
Tertiary Glowy Color: Whenua (Whether Mata Green or my preferred Apple Green for Whenua's tertiary, it would work well with both the Copper and Metru Green backing)
Neck: Vakama (giraffe neck like Vakama's turaga self, backported to his Metru form, a final thing shoehorned in for proper feature balance lmao)
I doubt this can even be called Star-ish Toa Metru, but they are the same size. Oh and Krahka here too.
Here's some Nokama Hordika, and Krahka as Monster Toa Nokama
They're wlw.

FINALLY!! Nuju and Onewa's hordika humanizations are DONE!
Drawing/deciding their animal forms was a bit difficult, but in the end, I'm happy with how they turned out~ And with a lil cameo from Krahka in her favorite form.

Nokama worries over their new Toa and reflects that there didn't seem to be any new movements by Makuta over the weekend. She has a meeting with Helryx, the director of the school board, and superintendents Axonn and Brutaka. Helryx promises more support, but warns Nokama that if situations continue to escalate she'll be forced to step in. Nokama gives Gali a pep talk and Tahu advice about Ahkmou's behaviour. After talking to Takua, she comes to the conclusion that he knows more about what happened in the gym than he's saying (and he's very bad at hiding it). The new school therapist shows up, and after minimal prodding reveals herself to be Krahka, a shape-shifting menace ally of the Turaga who they met when they were Toa.
