weeks pass by as he gets to know you. what begins as small talks of the weather and your home being the first to deliver to, turns into long deep conversations about life while the last piece of mail was being handed to your person.

beomgyu felt comfortable around you. he was free to be himself without any sort of judgement, and the second you allowed him into your home, he began thinking that you also felt that same way.

cups of tea or coffee were being sipped on as he allowed you to blabber on about the different classifications of roses— your favorite are the floribunda roses, which he set into the back of his mind to remember.

pieces of pastries or food being forgotten as you gave beomgyu the floor and began talking about the process on how to make your own paper— it was a hobby of his ever since some of his deliveries were sent back to him as waste.

he truly enjoyed his time with you, and you could say the same to him. so on the way out of your house from the latest talk the two of you had, beomgyu handed you a small envelope.

“don’t open it until i’m no where to be seen on the horizon,” he gives you a soft smile before letting you grab the letter on your own. he leans in slowly and presses a small, but firm, chaste kiss on your cheek.

“have a good night, yn.”

later that evening you found yourself huddled in bed, freshly showered. the letter laying on your bedside table— to be quite honest, you were nervous. beomgyu gave you extreme butterflies and you felt it in your heart that something in that letter he gave you was dealing with it.

using a small letter opener, you pull out the homemade paper from within it. small specks on pink litter the thick paper, a few petals of your favorite flower within it as well. you knew he made paper by hand, but this specific one was astonishing— it made you feel special, almost like he was giving you a full bouquet of flowers.

the letter was unfolded and as you read it, your heart couldn’t help but beat quicker than it ever has before.

my dear yn,

i can’t even begin to mention how many times i have hoped someone would bring me a letter addressed to you— to be able to grab that bundle of paper and make my way over to your home just to see you.

it undoubtedly made me happy just seeing your name hidden amongst the rest of the pile, and quite frankly, when i didn’t, i’d make the excuse to see you by grabbing a newspaper from across town.

as you are aware, your home is the furthest from the center of town and i did attempt to start with your home and work my way inwards when i first became the messenger. but that very first day was the day i decided to work my way outwards.

i adore seeing your bright smile at the end of a hard day, especially during the harsh summer and winter months. delivering letters isn’t as easy as it can be perceived, so having the opportunity to see my favorite person after a long day of work makes everything worth the trouble.

i truly hope my subtle actions of flirtation or romance weren’t upsetting or uncomfortable— my behavior was well intended. and i also would like to apologize for not being able to explain my emotions towards you in person.

soobin's rambles continued on for more than a couple minutes. perhaps it was due to your silence after he confessed, but you truly didn't understand why. all you knew was that he was nervous, and so were you.

"soobin," you call out to him softly.

it was an attempt to help him focus on you, but the only thing that could stop him from talking was a soft kiss to his cheek. Almost instantly, his skin turns a bright red, complimenting his soft lips perfectly. if he didn't know better, this would be your way of not rejecting him, which made him bloom with happiness on the inside.

"yn..," he whispers and looks at you with such big eyes that made you feel like his adoration for you was much more than what you previously believed.

"i like you, too. i like you a lot, bin."

“yn..?” beomgyu quietly asks, voice slightly wavering at how you stood there.

the sun was setting and it made your skin glow with radiance. the trees wavered around you because of the slight breeze. the weather nice and cool in the park, it was almost the perfect confession– all that was left was you returning his feelings.

“yn.. please say some-something.”

no matter how hard beomgyu tried, he overthought everything up to that point. had he been a bad friend? was he too forward? maybe you only viewed him as a friend and all that flirting meant as a bit to you. his hands begin to shake with worry and he chews on the inside of his cheek to prevent himself from tumbling over in tears. 

finally, after what felt like hours, you give him a smile. but he couldn’t decipher it still, so he apologizes with no hesitation.

“yn, i am so s-so sorry..”

“shut up and kiss me already,” you whisper, pressing your lips on his with much love. a burning passion replaces the anxiety in his body while he wraps his arms around you.

kang taehyun

throughout your whole friendship, taehyun wasn’t much of a person to showcase his feelings so easily. of course, the longer your friendship lasted, the more vulnerable he became with you, but it didn’t make it any less harder for him to open up. so as he stands in front of you after confessing how much you truly meant to him, he scratches his neck awkwardly from the silence.

“i’m really sorry if this means our friendship is over,” he tells you, trying to break the ice that the conversation somehow turned into. “i really care about you, and i thought it was better for you to know.. for your sake.”

you tear up, though. of course he would confess to you because he thought of your position in this situation. as someone who wouldn’t like him back, it would make you uncomfortable for him to continuously cling to you. but that wasn’t you.

“don’t worry, tyun,” you hug him close with a soft smile to ease his worries. “i really care about you, too. maybe a little too much, if i’m going to be honest with you.”

the silence was deafening. so deafening that the only thing kai mustered up the courage to do was laugh.

“you don’t like me back,” kai says after his fit of laughter. his voice is filled with sadness and longing, but still hope because you truly hadn’t answered just yet. you look at him with slightly glossy eyes, the way he confessed to you was so beautiful it left you speechless. of course you wanted to say yes, but your long time crush just admitted to him loving you since forever ago.

“it’s not like that..,” you whisper and look at him with a smile. “i like you so much, kai. so much that my heart beats quicker just hearing your name, and i..”

you pause and the boy in front of you stays quiet to let you finish, “i’ve loved you since then, too.”

his arms snake their way around you and pulls you into a big embrace. he knew why you were slightly upset, and quite honestly, hearing that you’ve loved him for a while makes him feel the same.

“we’ll make up the lost time, i promise.”

on your way over, soobin made it known that there was no reason to be scared of them. they were all pretty much similar to him, and you were dating the leader, so there was no need to be nervous.

but walking into the small dorm, your nerves peaked and you began shaking. trying to combat this, you grabbed onto your boyfriend for comfort.

but as nervous as you got, it went away within an instant. each boy found you to be extremely endearing and wanted to get you out of your small shell. they were very cautious as to not upset you, but still managed to bring out the real you that took soobin months to pull out.

to say that he grew upset at this was an understatement. your attention drew away from him the longer you were with the boys, and it doesn’t help that they were making flirtatious remarks towards you as well.

and of course you didn’t know. you were completely oblivious.

“i’m telling you, yn,” yeonjun says, laughing softly towards you. “you would look extremely stunning if you got the piercing.”

“i don’t know,” you reply with, pouting your lips to think about it longer. “i feel like i don’t have the right ear shape for it, but you do! and it looks great on you.”

this was soobin’s last straw.

he gets up from his place next to you, walking to his room and shutting the door close.

it wasn’t that he was upset at your interactions with his members, in fact, he wanted you all to get along. but it was the way you and yeonjun interacted, as if soobin wasn’t even there.

yeonjun was so much stronger, smarter, older, and just overall better than soobin. at least that’s what he thought, and just the idea of his love leaving him for yeonjun made him feel really small.

after excusing yourself from the conversation, you knocked on the door softly and called out, “soobin? honey? are you okay?”

you don’t hear anything for a while, not even feet shuffling against the floor towards the door. it wasn’t until your phone buzzed that you moved from your place near the door.

you trusted your boyfriend knew what was best for him, and if he needed the time to himself, you gave it to him. walking back to the shared area of the dorm, yeonjun gives you a confused look.

“he wants some alone time,” you say, smiling softly. “didn’t tell me what, but i don’t want to bother him right now.”

it took soobin 32 minutes to calm down from his state of anxiety, and yes you counted. but instead of coming back to the living room where you and yeonjun began discussing instagram pictures, he wanted you to come to him.

soobin let you in the room and you were quick to note his puffy and red eyes. you frown and hug him, “soobin.. are you okay?”

his lips press into a fine line and sighs against your embrace, holding you close to his chest.

“i’m scared you’ll realize how much better he is than me,” your boyfriend whispers, afraid that the words coming out of his mouth might end up being true. “please don’t leave me.. not for yeonjun-hyung, not for anyone.”

you look up at your boyfriend and run a soft thumb against his teary cheeks, replying with a soft smile, “i’d never leave you soobin. not for him, and not for anyone else.”

with an already built up frustration, you begin to sob uncontrollably and rip off the entirety of your outfit until you're left in your underwear. then, you put on your comfort hoodie and sweatpants, both which happen to be your boyfriend’s.

being bigger than the average person made you very self conscious, especially with someone as fit as him. but somehow his perfectly fitting clothes gave you a generous amount of comfort.

you laid in bed and hid within the soft hoodie, closing your eyes as you cried for your boyfriend. and it isn't until he walks into your apartment, to pick you up, that he sees how distraught you became.

"honey?" soobin whispers softly, approaching you on the bed with soft steps. there was nothing better than hearing his comforting voice after hearing ugly words from the one inside your head. "is everything okay?"

you whine softly and turn to him with puffy eyes, its then that his heart breaks in a tiny million pieces. he places a hand on your cheek and wipes away a tear that dropped just seconds before.

he didn't know why you were upset, and at this point, all he cared for was you and bringing you comfort. so he brings you into an embrace after fully sitting down on the bed, making sure you were as comfortable as possible.

whispering soft 'it's going to be okay's, soobin kisses the hood over your head gently multiple times and rubs your arms soothingly. if there was anything in the world soobin doesn't like, is seeing you so desperately upset that you couldn't even breathe properly.

the two of you both forgot about dinner. soobin being too worried for you, and you trying to calm yourself down by hiding against his familiar embrace. and after you were calmed down enough by your boyfriend, you look back at him with a sad smile.

he presses a sweet kiss on your lips, nudging his nose just slightly against yours. when he pulls back, you manage out to whisper out an explanation to your distress, "don't l-like how i look."

your boyfriend gives you a concerned look, pressing his hands on both of your cheeks gently. "baby, you're the most gorgeous person that exists in this world," he replies with, leaving a kiss on the tip of your nose.

it's not that you're ungrateful for his comfort, but being a bigger person was something he never got to experience. he was always so fit, and it doesn't help that his profession is so physical. even if he were to put on a bit of weight, it would always be lost from the extremities of his idol life.

you sniffle ever so slightly and lay your head just under his chin, "never gonna be as gorgeous as you."

soobin looks down at you in shock, chewing on his lip to prevent himself from crying. if only you knew how he saw you, because never would those words have even entered his mind. and he became determined to make you understand how he views you.

placing his hands on the puffiness of your sides, he rubs his hands against your skin, under the hoodie. he peppers kisses over your head and then moves the both of you so that you're underneath him. this makes you very flustered with rosy cheeks and avoiding eyes. you go to ask what he's doing when he lifts the hoodie from off your belly gently.

"this is stunning," he says, pressing soft butterfly-like kisses over the plushness of your stomach. he runs his big hands against the sweatpants covering your thighs and kisses those areas too. “this is beautiful.”

every single place you could have been insecure of and more, he kisses and leaves so many affirming words that it leaves you speechless.

but there will never be words for him to describe to you how much he loves you, and how gorgeous he finds you. nothing will ever be able to help you see that, so he hopes by reminding you, however many times he needs to, that maybe you’ll be able to get close to understanding.

and no words could help soobin understand how he makes you feel. confident, sexy, stunning, gorgeous, comforted, lovely.. none of these words could ever describe how your boyfriend makes you feel. but one thing is for sure:

the more soobin showed you how much he loved you that night, the more you settled on the fact that he was the one.

“say you love me.. say you love me..,” beomgyu sings from outside your balcony, standing near a field of grass. the strums of his guitar sends beautiful waves of music into the garden and as soon as he catches a glimpse of you, he gets up from one knee to see you better.

you smile happily at him, leaning against the railing with your head in your hand. as annoying as prince beomgyu was, he was your favorite suitor between the five of them. don’t tell him that though, because you kept it a secret until you knew for sure.

this didn’t stop him from being one of the best princes you had ever come across. he tried really hard to get you to fall in love with him, because he was truly in love with you. normally suitors marry a royal for necessity of any kind. armies, food, supplies, you name it. but when it came to prince beomgyu, he was different.

not only did he ask for your hand in marriage before any of the other suitors without pressure, he was the only one that actively followed you everywhere like a small puppy. though it did get to be a bit of a nuisance, you adored the prince for trying as hard as he could.

it was such a shame that he didn’t know you hadn’t even thought of marrying the other four princes. he could have saved himself so much embarrassment. at the end of the day though, he truly didn’t care. that’s how in love with you prince beomgyu was.

after he finishes his song, he looks up at you with a dazzling smile and as he goes to bid you good morning, your four other suitors run in front of them to grab your attention. it looks like the rest saw how clingy prince beomgyu was being, and wanted to draw you away from choosing him.

but unbeknownst to them, there would be no changing of your decision.

so when beomgyu follows you to your royal dinner with the suitors, like he always does, you pay no mind to him. he rambles on about his day and about how he hopes you had a good one, and especially compliments how stunning you look.

"the jewels on your attire compliment your eyes really well, your highness," the prince says, walking fast to keep up with your pace. "they could never compare though. your eyes are the most precious gems i've ever laid my eyes on."

you stopped walking when you heard his cheesy line, a clear blush appearing on your face. this took beomgyu by surprise, making him stop in his tracks as well. had you really paid attention to his stupid pick up lines this time? he felt like he was dreaming.

“prince beomgyu,” you say, turning to face him for the first time during that walk.

he looks at you with full intent, both eyes still in a state of shock. it wasn’t common that you actually talked to him, so he grew nervous with butterflies in his stomach. swallowing hard, he nods for you to continue.

“while i adore your attempts to court me,” you give him a sweet smile. “i already made a decision.”

the prince looks at you like a lost puppy, dumbfounded and confused. it takes him a little time to reply as he didn’t know what to make of your statement. but once he does reply, he asks, “it’s prince yeonjun, isn’t it?”

and for the first time since courting you, he hears your sweet laughter. the way you didn’t cover your mouth in an attempt to keep your image up made him especially happy. not only had you been comfortable enough with him to laugh, but you had trusted him with seeing your laugh without the customary hand covering.

if beomgyu was honest with himself, seeing you laugh for the first time was like falling in love with you all over again.

“it’s..,” you pause to take a deep breath, finally calming down from the soft laughter. “it’s you. you’re the only one who seems to truly love me for me, without any underlying motives. i noticed that of you right away and made my decision then.”

beomgyu’s eyes widen and he blushes deeply. in the midst of his butterflies he whispers out a soft ‘i love you’, confirming your suspicions.

pressing a soft chaste kiss on his cheek, you leave to walk into the dining hall where you will inform the other four princes of your decision. this leaves behind prince beomgyu, who presses a hand against his face and gives a boyish grin at the soft kiss left on his cheek.

and not too long after, like always, he follows straight after you.
