Raph came across Carmine while they were infiltrating a yokai gang's hideout. The team quickly came to realize they were selling more than just illegal weapons, and obviously set every single one free (in the Hidden City, which probably wasn't their best idea but uh, at least everyone is okay?) Carmine followed Raph and the others home and has been with them ever since!

Meanwhile...

A stone guardian watches over a long flight of steps leading through the forest toward a shrine in Japan.

What I like about this photograph is the way the scene unfolds in layers.

The guardian stands close in the foreground, while the stone steps lead the eye deeper into the forest and toward the architecture at the top.

The surrounding trees, moss, and small flowers soften the strong lines of the staircase and give the scene a quieter atmosphere.

For me, this photograph is not only about the shrine itself.

It is about the feeling of approaching a place slowly — moving from the forest, through the steps, toward something waiting in the distance.

This remains one of my favorite photographs because of the balance between structure, nature, and depth.
