Kolkata gets its very own first hanging restaurant, Biswa Bangla Gate.

My first entry for @a_pinch_ofsalt 100 year old restaurant of your city series. Founded by Shri Sushil Roy in 1910, a singly lit cafe in North Calcutta, near Sobhabazar Metro Station caught the taste buds of people. Over the years, this diamond fish fry and kabiraji selling outlet named "Mitra Cafe" meaning friends and dedicated to friends and friendships have spread it roots to other part of the city. Their second brunch came up in Golpark, South Kolkata which is this. Till date it serves the choicest fish fries called "Diamond Fish Fry" which stood for "Friends and Friendship" for generations to come much before our generation's "FRIENDS" came to vogue. Perhaps this is way a FRIENDS chronology would start back in the time in this part of the world. Everyone needs a Central Park afterall.
