 It was a cold night in the middle of winter. Heavy snow falled from the sky, covering the entire forest in a thick blanket of white. However, despite the cold weather...it was a very warm occasion.

 Inside the den of the wolf demon clan...Ayame lied on a bed of dry, warm hay, covered by a pink kimono with an iris flower pattern. She looked exhausted, her hair loose and sweat falling from her face...and yet, she had the biggest smile that anyone had ever seen.

 Why?

 Because in her arms...she held this squirming infant with a head full of fuzzy brown hair and a little brown wolf tail in between her legs. She was wailing her head off, tears falling from her eyes...but to Ayame, it was the best sound she could ever hear.

 After 5 painful hours of labor...Ayame gave birth to her newborn daughter.

 All around her, the wolf demon tribe stood to marvel at the tiny babe. Some quietly cooed and whispered how cute she looked. Others- mainly Ginta and Hakkaku- were sobbing their eyes out at the joyous occasion. However...in the corner, Koga was sitting stock-still, eyes wide and lips parted. It was almost as if he was still trying to process what had just happened.

 "Koga," Ayame whispered. "Come and hold your daughter."

 Koga shook his head, finally snapping out of his stupor, and after taking a second to get to his feet, he shakily walked over to his wife, who smiled at him as he soon sat down beside her. Ayame then offered the baby to him, and at first, he seemed to hesitate. He had never held a baby before, after all, and he was afraid that if he wasn't careful, he'd drop her...but then he looked at Ayame, who nodded her head with a reassuring look in her eyes. Swallowing thickly, Koga soon took the infant into his arms...and the moment his eyes fell on that chubby little face, he could've sworn that he felt his heart burst inside his chest.

 She cooed softly as she settled in his arms, her little fingers reaching out any which way. It was then that her eyes opened...revealing them to a deep blue, just like his own.

 As Koga's vision began to blur, that's when it finally hit him: this was his daughter. His and Ayame's daughter...and she was the most beautiful, most precious thing that he had ever seen.

 "...Are you crying?" Ayame asked in a bit of a teasing tone, causing Koga to sniff and chuckle as he carefully wiped his eyes while still cradling his baby girl.

 "Of course not!" he denied. "Don't be stupid! I just...had something in my eye, that's all."

 Ayame smiled lovingly at her husband and newborn daughter, who was soon placed back into her arms. As soon as she took her back, the female wolf demon pulled her kosode down slightly, revealing her ample breasts, swollen with milk. The baby latched onto a nipple and began to suckle, vigorously.

 "...We still have to name her," said Ayame.

 "Yeah, I know," said Koga. "How about...Kagome?"

 "Koga," Ayame said in a warning tone, even though she was smirking at him.

 "Kidding, I'm kidding," Koga replied. "Come on, you know I'm not obsessing over her, anymore."

 "Just checking," Ayame said.

 "Hmm...I want her name to be unique," Koga said. "Something that no one else could think of."

 "Hey, check it out!" Ginta called out suddenly as he stood near the den's entrance. "The snow stopped falling!"

 "Yeah, and the full moon is out!" Hakkaku added as the clouds began parting, revealing the glow of the silvery full moon and the twinkling stars in the sky above.

 Koga stared out at the moon, then glanced down at his daughter...and that's when he remembered something. It is said amongst the wolf demon clan that when a baby was born on the night of the full moon, it is supposed to be a good omen, a sign of good things to come.

 "...I know what to name her," Koga said as he gently cupped his daughter's face. "Tsukihime."

 "...Princess of the moon," said Ayame. "It's beautiful."

 Tsukihime just kept suckling from her mother's breast, her eyes beginning to close as she started to fall asleep. Koga and Ayame smiled at her lovingly before they glanced at each other...then came together in a short but sweet kiss.

 The other members of the clan soon backed away, giving the new family some space.
