Things were built so well 'back in the day ' that they often outlived their owners, were passed down from one generation to the next and more often than not, did their job better than many of today's replacements.
It's exhausting watching everything become disposable. So many products are made from cheap plastic, polyester and other flimsy materials that crack, tear, stop working for no apparent reason or fall apart if you so much as look at them the wrong way.
We miss a time when quality actually mattered,when companies took pride in building products that were made to last for years, not just long enough to convince you to buy another one. We miss when earning loyal, returning customers was more important than squeezing every last dollar out of them.
Today, durability has too often been replaced by planned obsolescence and craftsmanship has taken a back seat to cutting costs, maximizing profits and mass-producing disposable crap. Things should be built to last, repaired when possible and valued for their longevity..not designed with an expiration date from the moment they leave the factory.
âš¡Ubisoft greenlit a full-fledged new Far Cry game codenamed Kodiak, built by Vantage studio from the ashes of the canned extraction shooter Maverick The focus is now on an open world driven by player freedom and emergent stories. Insiders say the release is still years away, and work continues on Blackbird with co-op. Inside the studio, Kodiak is seen as the new starting point for the series.
