Who knew buying honey could be a very long process? It took me 5 minutes in the aisle with the honey to decide what was going to be best for my family, the environment and the bees. They were all made in Canada, but all of them came in plastic containers. Some had certified stamps, the stamp was on the home brand as well as the brand name. I was about to grab the stamped home brand when the next shelf over was a local (same town I was shopping in) honey line! The cost was withing pennies of the brand name ones. And I came in a glass jar!! Of course in all this my poor husband is up the aisle looking at coffee, he looks at me, confused, debating all the honey and their effects on our world, he asks "what's taking so long?" So I grabbed the glass jarred honey from a local farmer and I start explaining my shopping experience and he goes " is this how all of our shopping is going to go now?" And well..... YES! It matters! If not to anyone else it matters to me, I will teach my family how to use local as much as possible and support our own economies instead of over seas companies. Because well, I want people to use my local companies as well. Don't get me wrong, my husband, loves all the changes we are making, he helps me with ALL of it! 💜 But some of it isn't in his realm of reality yet. He hasn't had the time to watch numerous videos and reading the stories that we have through homeschooling. My girl has a passion to save the world because of our studies. I can't wait to share with her this morning about how we found a local honey! It seems like a small thing.
