Listen I am not going to name anyone specifically, but pattern makers need to talk to one (1) fat person before they can post their patterns online.
I am so sick of finding a cute pattern, getting all the supplies, checking my gage, and starting to knit, only to find that my sleeves are a foot longer than a normal human because the pattern maker just multiplied all their numbers by 10 when they sized it up. I can't believe I have to say this but, just because my ass is fat does not mean my arms go down to my knees???

I'm gonna say it: I'm tired of knitting and crochet instructions being delivered in exclusively video format. It's inefficient. I would rather have the directions in front of me and have videos be *secondary* supplements for more complex techniques.
I was looking all over for a way to make a spiral toe for a knit sock and couldn't find written instructions on blog posts or anywhere, only in 20+ minute YouTube videos. I read the transcript for one of those and it took me 1 minute 18 seconds to fully understand how to knit the spiral toe.
I think it's strange that I can find dozens of free video tutorials but I have to pay for a written pattern. I don't want to watch 2 hours of content and ads! Give me the 1 page of instructions!! It has to be easier to write a pattern than to film an entire tutorial around it! Step by step videos are never at the speed you need them to be, they will spend 3 minutes showing you how to do a chain and then zip by a crazy new technique, their hands will cover the stitches, they will speed up or go stitch by stick at the wrong times and you will have to rewind this long video dozens of times to *hear* what you are supposed to do...instead of just being able to reference a pattern.
Patterns are worth knowing how to read so you don't have to have a video for everything. It's helpful to have all the individual skills you can combine for any pattern instead of following along exactly to a tutorial. It's so quick to learn how to read a pattern. read patterns. please. I'm sick of video tutorials. I don't want to see your hands in front of your stitches for an hour. justtellmehowtomakethegoddamnbag
