i very much like knight of space. in terms of actual mechanics, i imagine it working a lot like jade’s witch of space powers, with knight’s role of using the aspect as a weapon or tool, but also in protecting the aspect. knights to me exemplify the idea of the “lawful neutral” as an idea, being bound to their aspect and their obligations to serve it, and i think space and time, respectively, amplify this. both aspects have very important purposes in the game, being fundamental to it being able to happen at all, as so i think a knight of space especially would be an extremely dedicated type of person. i think they would like to find a purpose/ a cause and stick through with it until the very end. stubborn, is what i’m saying. space players do tend to be very sunshine-y and cheerful, but i think a knight of space specifically might be a bit of a quieter, more collected type of person, and someone who is very specific and intentional in what they do and say. overall knight of space is a great one! thanks for asking in :)

i came across a tiktok that encouraged people to talk about their classpects or what they know of classpects and what im going to say is not fitting in a singular comment at all so im just posting what i was gonna put in the comment on tumblr
so like yeah under the cut is nerd only zone sorry guys you need a vip pass
i guess itd be like reverse vip
maybe lip
because were all pretty lame for this so like Least Important Person i guess
"dersite knight of time here. id like to emphasize *dersite* because a prospitian knight of time and a dersite knight of time are two very different people. yes i know "haha funny youre such a dave strider larper how ironic" no this is just how i am
regardless though:
the knight part of my mythological role plays a part in how i would wield my aspect and how much i know about my aspect, as well as how my aspect manipulates my personality. being a knight of time, im a people-person. i cant function well without other people because im part of an ensemble of heroes. the aspect of time is all about death, acceptance, bravery, strength, injury, mistake, and most importantly, coordination. the sigil for time is a gear. gears cant function on their own-- they need the other cogs to assist them, too. its a factor in why space and time are such an important aspect pairing.
with that said, knights are people that do things because they *know* that no one else can do it other than them. everything they embark on is done because its a duty. a task. its just something that they need to do. because of this mindset, they subconsciously hold expectations for others, verbally discussed or not withstanding, but more importantly, themselves. they think of themselves as a stereotype or that they have a script theyre endlessly reading off of that dictates how to behave. thats where their "facade" comes into play. personally, due to being a knight of time, my "facade" slips pretty easily because *im* pretty lenient about how i present myself until it matters to me. however, that doesnt mean that its easy to get under a knights skin. infact, the facade is *apart* of a knights skin. they hide behind it because its easier. they dont get questioned if their behavior is normalized and solid, rather than fluctuant. people usually know what to expect from a knight because of this. their facade can be anything-- being cool, being put together or stoic, being emotionally secure, being smart--absolutely anything, as long as it makes them look better and people have a reason to talk to them. thats why they do it. the enigma thats behind a knights thick skin is what they strongly believe to be what people are drawn to in themselves. the knight isnt gonna give them the satisfaction if thats what people stay in line for. sometimes, they even have *multiple* layers behind how they present themselves. a knights personality is *usually* intentionally some sort of form of cliffhanger because thats what keeps people hooked. a knights personality revolves around their front.
now, what knights *do* what their aspects is fight. knights fight either WITH their aspect or fight THROUGH their aspect. canonically, daves main weapon for a while is caledscratch, a sword he manipulates to change forms with a record on its hilt with time. if he rolls it to the future, the sword is half-severed, and if he rolls it to the past, the sword is fully in tact. dave *physically* USES time to fight. canonically, karkat uses his influence and status of leadership (or at least tries) to whip his friends into shape. he commands them to do not what he does, but what he says, because he (usually) knows what hes doing. karkat *symbolically* fights THROUGH blood. this is simultaneously REALLY FUCKING IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU CANNOT FORGET WHEN TRYING TO WRITE A KNIGHT and "meh itll come to me when it matters"
mythologically, a knights jobs are to assist the space player with breeding the genesis frog. you can see this being done with karkat assisting kanaya and dave assisting jade respectively. possibly because they are, well, *knights.* they defend, they protect, they fight. space players are obviously very prone to harm because of the dersites hatred for them, and because of how fragile the aspect of space is. it could easily go wrong, and knights are *never* wrong, at least they believe to be so, which is why they help.
when it comes to their mythological roles, knights are people that have a good grasp on their individual aspects either prematurely or very quickly. they are *naturally gifted* with the knowledge of their aspect, which is why you see dave use his powers for absolutely everything early in the comic--creating timeloops just for the sake of timeloops-- hence using a timeloop to abuse sburb's currency system, and its why you see karkat be so confident in his leadership and romantic knowledge. its because they know what theyre doing, and they know that they know what theyre doing. knights are extremely self aware, with their aspect and with their own personalities (sometimes even others' behaviorisms), painfully so, *because* they know what theyre doing.
a knight of times knowledge of time symbolically could be that they know how much time they spend doing a thing and how much time they burn, what time it currently is, maybe even how much time there is until the next big thing like with calendars or something. (theres also a huge headcanon that dave has an internal metronome-style clock in his head that counts seconds and minutes post-godtier, which i think is pretty cool. its usually associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder, so take that with a grain of salt, but i just wanted to mention that)
self awareness of ones aspect is a knights biggest strength-- however, its a double edged sword, walking hand in hand with their biggest weakness: being unable to take things as they come. they *know* whats going to happen, they *know* whats in it for them, all because of their knowledge on their aspect.
dave knows that any mistake he and his friends make can cost their lives, he knows that time traveling at all is painfully capable of fucking up absolutely everything in the stream of their timeline, he knows that *he* will die at some point. but he cant stop it. he has to live with the knowledge that he has to die. karkat knows that his leadership and his influence could cost him his own life and reputation, he knows that he has to mend his friends' relationships because if he doesnt, everyone will destroy eachother AND themselves. but he cant stop it. knights are a *servant* to their aspects, they simply cant defy them. they hate it. they hate it so much that, sometimes, they wish they didnt know at all. they *have* to know it though, because if no one else does, they know they have to
id like to reiterate that knights *do not* enjoy their jobs (karkat being fucking sick of trying to lead people intentionally later into the comic, dave outright refusing to use his powers when jade commands him to) and do them because they KNOW theyre obligated to.
(i believe this is why knights are sometimes paired with maids, seeing that maids enjoy their jobs and knights dont. while the topic of pairings is up, id like to mention that their immense knowledge of their aspects is the reason theyre paired with pages, seeing that pages know almost nothing of their aspect and start with basically no abilities or courage, and that in contrast, knights know majority of their aspect and start with most of their abilities ((if any)) and courage. pages are also servants to their aspect, so theres that too)
now, lets address the slowly shrinking and pulsing gear shaped elephant in the room
time is endless. time doesnt stop nor fluctuate, its constantly solid and it moves. urgently or leisurely is out of the question, because it has no attitude. it moves and it takes and it *will leave you behind.* it is everything death, everything inevitable, everything constant or perpetual, everything meticulous, everything coordinated. everything about time is *planned* and *arduous* and *specific.* being timebound, you dont need (or really want) to know how specific it is or the reasoning behind it, just what you need to do to keep stuff moving
(sort of unrelated: fun fact, did you know everyone on AND off earth experiences time differently?? kind of self explanatory, but i wont go on a tangent. just look into this stuff its pretty cool)
i would also like to mention that time is the aspect most associated with music???? the two characters weve seen time traveling are dave and aradia, whom of which use music boxes and turntables on gears ("timetables") respectively. possibly because music is all about timing and coordination, which is what the aspect of time is, however the solid reasoning behind it im unsure
what you NEED to take away from the time aspect is that the job of the timebound is to GET SHIT DONE. i would honestly go more into it but i feel its at least somewhat self explanatory (plus, im not a professional classpect expert. PLEAAASE go check out smarter people than me and their take on aspects if you want to know more, i am literally just some dude on the internet that gets bored and decides to read up on things im curious about)
tldr; being a knight of time, you naturally have a good grasp on the aspect of time. youre fully aware of the risks of fucking with time, what being time-bound means, the inevitability of time, and what time demands. youre painfully self conscious of everything about yourself, as well *as* of time, and youre never fully transparent until your resolve shatters
my moirail is a knight of void and i just want to know what others have to say about they think a knight of void is, i personally have my own interpretation that i brainstormed with it (moirail) but yeah i wanna hear other's thoughts on it
Sure! This will be nice since another anon already asked me about knight of void and i'm still owing them an answer, so here we go
Knights are people that actively preserve theirs and through their Aspect, hiding it from the public eye. While similar to Princes in a way that both of them do behave more aligned to their opposite Aspect in the surface, the difference is that Princes want to avoid their Aspect as much as they can while Knights already have their Aspect as a part of their inner nature, they just do not have the confidence to show it fully to the world, probably due to fear.
Void is the Aspect whose general idea is that of Uncertainity. How is it possible that the same thing can both represent something that factually exists, but can't be easily perceived or defined, and also literally inexistence on its own? Simple, the point of Void is that it represents anything that can't be properly defined or measured, or in other words, Uncertain! This applies to anything that is totally subjective and/or unmeasurable. Equius lets his inner impulses guide him on a bunch of things he does, Rose has a hard time understanding her mom and also Roxy due to the nature of Void being about the Unmeasurable, and more.
(Note: You don't necessarily have to lock on into one single interpretation when thinking about those examples, classes have multiple interpretations going on at the same time, including mostly literal ones)
The first thing we need to know about Knights is that they try to protect/preserve their Aspect by hiding it from others, which means that initially they will act more accordingly to their opposite Aspect in a similar fashion to how Destroyer Classes do it. This means that our Knight of Void will, ironically, seem more like a Light Player. We can play out with the many ideas/motifs of Light based around this. Our Knight could be a really famous celebrity (Attention), they could be someone extremely rich (Fortune), they could be a supernaturally lucky person (Manipulation of Chance), a huge nerd who's extremely knowledgeable/confident of stuff (Certainty) and many more.
All of those, however, are just a façade, what the Knight wants to show off to the world about them. Deep inside, they'll be hiding something that's related to Void about them. They could have a dark secret that they want to distract people off from by trying to be popular with everyone (Secrets), they could quite literally have a Void in their life that they want to fill in by interacting more with Light, they could have a inner desire for avoiding so much popularity and start to disappear from the public eye (Obscurity), and you could even have someone that actually has no idea what they're doing but are too shy to talk about it (Uncertainty), etc...
Like i said on my previous analysis, since Knights are Active Classes their main issue derives from doing too much of what they already do, in the case of the Knights it's Preserving their Aspect, A.K.A. Hiding too much of their Aspect from others. For our Knight of Void, they would need to understand that they don't need to keep hiding Void all the time, that they need to reveal it to at least someone else in order to grow and be more at peace with themselves.
As for powers, like in my previous analysis, i believe that Knights and Pages Preserve their Aspect and Preserve through their Aspect. Our Knight of Void could make themselves and others completely disappear (Preserving through Obscurity) , make themselves and others untraceable (Preserving through the Unmeasurable), literally erase themselves and people for a short while to reappear back later (Preserving through Inexistence), and many more.
I've been dying to talk about Knights and Pages again, thanks anon!
Space is the Aspect that deals with Creation. Not only physical creation in general, but rather the idea that "Things take time to create, better be patient if you want to make something really good", which is why it is the opposite of Time. It also deals with physical distance because of the literal interpretation of the Aspect and also because dealing with Space also means worrying with long-term problems instead of short-term ones (more aligned with Time)
This Knight would be someone that would want to preserve Space as much as they could while hiding it from the others. Since Aspects are malleable, this could have simultaneous and multiple meanings. Since our guy/girl is hiding their Aspect, they will (on the surface) act like a Time player. They could be really proactive, steadfast, hurried up, and a bunch of other adjectives that you can come up with the concept of the Time aspect. This way of acting, however, it's actually just a façade to hide their relationship with Space. Maybe our Knight has a close attachment to a physical object but it's too embarassing for them to talk about it (Since Space also deals with the physical), maybe they have a inner artist that they want to show but aren't confident in their own abilities, maybe they have an attachment to their own home or even Land and they are nervous to talk about it, and many more. Hero titles deal with multiple motifs often at the same time, so you don't have to necessarily lock your Knight into one specific interpretation.
All classes have a specific way to "fail" in their function in some way, and this is no exception to the Knight. Since they are active classes, their way of failing involves doing too much of what their function tells them to do. The Knight should preserve their Aspect yes, but they shouldn't do it so much that they start locking themselves emotionally because of it. In other words, if we want our Knight of Space to fully grow and finish their character arc, they would need to eventually learn that they can indeed express their relationship with Space and that they don't need to keep hiding it forever from others.
As for powers, while it is mostly speculative since Hussie haven't told us the verb that Knights and Pages work on neither did he ever show a Knight actually using his powers as far as i can tell (Dave's time travelling is common for all Time players in general, not Knights), i can make some thoughts based on my interpretation that both Knights and Pages Preserve their Aspect.
Knights preserve their Aspect and through their Aspect. Maybe our Knight can protect themselves and other things by giving Space to them. Covering them with other objects, making a impenetrable wall to keep things away (preserving through physical objects), making a gravitational field that will keep hazards away (preserving through Distance), magnifying objects to protect them from harm (preserving through Size), and many more possibilities.

the thing that i find funny when people classpect "jerk with a heart of gold" characters like susie as knights of rage is that like, no you're doing it wrong, knights tend to hide their aspect from others until they feel comfortable showing it, a knight of rage would be shy about showing their anger not the other way around xd
they should be from their opposite aspect if that's the case (knight of hope in this situation)
Can I please get your opinion on a Knight of Breath?
knight of breath is really cool! most breath classpects have some really interesting interactions with the class, knight doesn't have that much to me, but i find it really interesting! especially with a knight of breath being someone that is entirely dedicated to protecting freedom, you could take that in a lot of ways character-wise. a lot of breath characters don't have a lot of potential to be antagonistic (except for thief/ rouge and prince/ bard ofc) but i could definitely see that for knight of breath, since "protecting freedom" can be taken to some pretty big extremes.
